Typeform Review 2026: Is It Worth It, and What Does It Really Cost?

What each Typeform plan includes, where the five-user wall sits, and what five alternatives charge for the same form.

TL;DR

Typeform is worth yearly Plus, at $56/mo billed yearly, when up to three people need a branded, one-question form and about 1,000 responses a month. Yearly Basic is $28/mo for one person and 100 responses, the free plan stops at 10 responses a month, and no self-serve plan covers a sixth user.

Fillout Starter is $15/mo billed annually, with unlimited seats, so a shared team does not hit a wall on the entry plan. Tally does not cap submissions on its free plan, and Jotform's pricing page says Enterprise is its only multiuser plan, so a shared Jotform account has no published price.

  • Updated: October 19, 2026
  • Best for: Customer-facing forms where the one-question layout matters and the team fits in five seats
  • Price as of October 19, 2026: From $28/mo (Basic, billed yearly); free plan is 10 responses/mo
  • A conversational form builder whose yearly Basic rate sits above the category median, with seats capped at five.
  • Free plan: The free plan is one user, and it only covers a click-through
  • Yearly Basic: Yearly Basic is the cheapest paid plan on the pricing page
  • Seat cap: Self-serve plans include at most five users
  • At the cap: The form goes private when the response allowance is used up

Pros

  • Plus yearly includes three users, branding removal and a custom subdomain
  • Basic includes logic, multiple endings, a logo, and PayPal or Stripe payments
  • Business includes the top self-serve response allowance, five users, Salesforce, and multi-language forms

Cons

  • The form goes private when a response cap is hit, and deleted answers still count against it
  • No self-serve plan includes a sixth user, so a larger team is a sales quote
  • Yearly Basic is above the median cheapest paid plan in the form builders we track

Typeform is a poor default when the job is collecting answers into a sheet. Pay for it when the one-question layout is the reason the form exists, and walk away when the team will not fit in five seats.

The bill is a flat plan, not a per-person rate, and the plan that fits the headcount is the whole decision.

Toolradar data: Toolradar tracks 83 form builders as of October 16, 2026. Typeform is the most cross-shopped of them, listed as an alternative to 53 other tools.

The median cheapest paid plan, across the 26 that publish one, is $15.50 a month, so yearly Basic sits above that median before a second user even joins.

The wider shelf is our best form builders page, and the category figures are on Toolradar's form builders ranking.

What is Typeform?

Typeform is a form, survey and quiz builder sold as a conversation. One question sits on the screen, then the next, with logic that can skip, score or end differently for each person.

Paid plans include unlimited forms and unlimited questions, so you are not paying by the field.

The Typeform page on Toolradar lists the same product next to the rest of the category.

Plans split by responses and seats, not by a menu you assemble yourself.

The free plan is one user, with embeds and a short integration list that includes HubSpot, Airtable, Mailchimp and Pipedrive. The plan is enough to connect a test, and a second person still has no login.

Basic adds logic, multiple endings, a logo, partial responses, payments through PayPal or Stripe, and uploads up to 1 GB.

A second editor does not fit on Basic, so a shared form is already a bigger plan. Plus is where branding comes off, a custom subdomain appears, and a brand kit is included, which is what a public form needs.

Business adds Salesforce, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, multi-language forms, and uploads up to 4 GB.

A file past the Basic upload limit has to move up. Talent is the hiring plan, with video questions and a scheduler, not a cheaper Business.

Growth Flow is the marketing plan, with lead enrichment, video and the contacts add-on, priced as its own product.

Enterprise covers SSO, HIPAA, a custom domain, and any team past the self-serve seat cap.

How Typeform works

A new form starts from a template or from an AI prompt on Basic and above, so the free plan does not get that prompt. Questions stack as screens, logic connects them, and the form goes out as a link or an embed.

Answers can leave through webhooks and the integrations on the plan.

A team that needs those answers in a base should read our Airtable review before treating the form as the system of record.

Moving the same answers into another app is the job in our Zapier review and in Zapier vs Make pricing.

The rough edge is the response cap, not the editor.

Typeform's help center says you get an email at 90% and at 100% of the monthly allowance. At the limit the form goes into private mode, so respondents cannot open it.

It becomes public again when the next billing month starts or when you raise the allowance, and deleting a response does not give the slot back.

A launch that outruns the cap does not slow down: the form closes. Auto-upgrade, on a paid plan, keeps the form open and bills the next response tier for the time left in the period.

That change lands on the invoice before the period ends.

Seats close the other door: Basic is one user, Plus and Talent are three, and Business and Growth Flow are five, so a sixth login has no self-serve home.

The pricing page points that person at Enterprise, which is contact sales, and guests are not a published workaround on that page.

If the form is a survey with crosstabs rather than a lead form, the longer comparison is our SurveyMonkey review.

Typeform key features

One question on the screenEssential
Each question is its own screen, with logic, scores, hidden fields and multiple endings, and that layout is the product you are paying for. A static list of fields is a different tool, and Typeform is the expensive way to build one.
Response caps that close the formEssential
At the monthly cap the form goes private until the next month or an upgrade, and deleted responses still count toward that cap. A launch can stop in front of the people you sent, and a live test spends the same allowance as real replies.
Seat caps, then a sales callEssential
There is no self-serve seat you can add one at a time, so the plan you buy is the headcount until sales is involved. The pricing page sends anyone past the included users to Enterprise.
Branding and payments by plan
Basic can show a logo and take PayPal or Stripe, and Typeform's mark stays on the form. Removing that branding, a custom subdomain and a brand kit start on Plus, so a public form usually cannot stay on Basic. A true custom domain is Enterprise only, separate from the subdomain.
Contacts and automations add-on
A 2,400-action tier is $29/mo and a 12,000-action tier is $89/mo. The smaller tier is not sold on Free or Basic, so automations require a plan change first. Growth Flow includes the add-on, and paying that plan only for the add-on is the expensive route.
Growth Flow enrichment
Growth Flow includes enrichment, video questions and the contacts add-on, and it asks for a card on a 14-day trial, so the trial is not a free look. Talent is the separate plan for video in a hiring flow, at a lower allowance.

Typeform pricing

Typeform lists Free, Basic, Plus, Business, Talent, Growth Flow and Enterprise on its pricing page, checked in October 2026. The page labels yearly billing as a 30% saving, the discount if you will keep the form all year.

Monthly billing is the higher number if the team might leave sooner, and a downgrade waits until the period ends.

Basic is $39/mo on the monthly toggle, for one user, and yearly Basic keeps the same limits at the lower rate.

A second editor does not fit, so a shared form leaves Basic immediately. Plus is $79/mo, or $56/mo billed yearly, with three users. That is the branded plan a small customer-facing team should price first.

Business is $129/mo, or $91/mo billed yearly, the last plan you can buy without a sales call.

Talent is $169/mo, or $119/mo billed yearly, with 3,000 responses and three users. It costs more than Plus for video and a scheduler, not for a bigger team.

The response and seat limits are from Typeform's plan guide.

Growth Flow is $379/mo, or $266/mo billed yearly, with 1,500 enrichments and the contacts add-on included.

Enterprise is contact sales, not a checkout you can finish yourself.

Monthly Basic charges $0.03 for each response past 100, and the compare table caps that plan at 750 responses a month. Plus tops out at 2,500, Business and Growth Flow at 50,000, and Talent at 7,500.

Auto-upgrade bills the next tier to keep the form open, and the invoice can jump inside the period.

The contacts add-on is $29/mo for 2,400 actions, or $89/mo for 12,000, and the smaller tier is not sold on Free or Basic.

Research Flow, the participant-panel product, publishes no list price, so a panel has nothing to budget until sales replies.

A headcount maps to one flat bill, not a per-person rate. One person pays yearly Basic, three people on Plus pay $672 for the year, and five people on Business pay $1,092 for the year.

Six people do not get a sixth seat: they get a sales conversation.

The other five tools were priced from their own pages the same week. Fillout shows Starter at $15/mo billed annually, Pro at $40/mo billed annually ($480), and Business at $75/mo billed annually.

The page strikes through $228, $588 and $1,068 beside those annual totals.

Every Fillout plan, including free, lists unlimited seats, so headcount does not force a sales quote.

Fillout says a form still collects after the cap, and the count resets on the 1st, so a busy month stays open instead of going private.

Tally is priced in euros: Pro is €20/mo and Business is €65/mo, with two months off on yearly billing.

The free plan does not cap forms or submissions, inside a fair-use line Tally does not number, which is why it fits a month you cannot predict.

Jotform lists Starter free with 5 forms and 100 submissions a month, Bronze at $408/yr, Silver at $49/mo with 2,500, and Gold at $1,188/yr.

Enterprise is its only multiuser plan, and Enterprise is custom, so a shared team has no number to approve.

A full refund is available within 30 days of payment, and Jotform says it charges US dollars outside Europe.

SurveyMonkey's individual plans are one user: Standard Monthly is $99/mo, Advantage is the annual plan above Standard, and Premier Annual is $139/mo ($1,668 for the year) with 40,000 responses.

Extra responses on a paid plan are $0.15 each, so an overrun is a per-response bill rather than a closed form.

Team plans require at least three users and are a separate checkout, so a smaller group stays on an individual plan.

Google Forms does not list a plan price, because it is part of Google Workspace rather than a form subscription of its own.

Typeform Plus yearly is the three-person fit, and Fillout Starter covers that volume with seats left over at $180 for the year.

Fillout Business is $900 for the year with unlimited responses and no seat cap, which is the bill to set beside a five-person Typeform team.

Jotform has no published price for either shared team, and Tally's free plan is the one that does not meter submissions.

Methodology: we read each vendor's pricing page on 17 October 2026, took the plan price and the limit as printed, and mapped headcount onto the smallest Typeform plan whose seat count covers it. Toolradar supplies the category count and the median only.

Who Typeform is for

Typeform fits a customer-facing form where the screen-by-screen layout is the point: a lead quiz, an application, or a feedback flow that has to look like the brand.

Buy yearly Plus for up to three people, or yearly Business for four or five, and only if the allowance matches the month you will collect.

Price Talent on its own for video questions, because it is a hiring plan, not a cheaper Business.

The free-tool end of this category is on our best free survey tools page, and the survey-shaped end is on best survey software.

Skip Typeform when the form is internal, where Google Forms is the default, when a sixth person needs a login, or when a full allowance would close the form on respondents.

Fillout and Tally do not stop at the self-serve seat cap, and Fillout's profiles are on Toolradar and Tally's listing.

Jotform is the path for payments, signatures and a self-serve HIPAA option on Gold, with the head-to-head on Typeform vs Jotform.

A longer alternatives write-up, for a general audience, is on Dupple's Typeform alternatives guide.

The bottom line

Buy yearly Plus or yearly Business only when the one-question form is the product and the team is five people or fewer. Three people at the Plus allowance pay $672 for the year, and five people at the Business allowance pay $1,092.

A sixth person has no self-serve seat, and a full response cap takes the form private.

Fillout is the lower published bill when seats are the constraint, Tally does not meter free submissions, and Jotform is the one to open when a single user needs HIPAA or a refund window.

SurveyMonkey fits a survey with analysis on one account, and Google Forms fits an internal list.

Frequently asked questions

Is Typeform worth it in 2026?

Yes, when the form is customer-facing, the team is five people or fewer, and the month fits the allowance on the plan you buy. It is a weak buy for an internal poll, for a sixth user, or for anyone who needs the form to stay open after the cap, because a full allowance closes the form. Yearly Plus matches a three-person team that needs branding off the form.

How much does Typeform cost?

Basic is $39/mo or $28/mo billed yearly, and Plus is $79/mo or $56/mo billed yearly, which is the choice between a solo form and a branded form for three people. Business is $129/mo or $91/mo billed yearly, Talent is $169/mo or $119/mo billed yearly, and Growth Flow is $379/mo or $266/mo billed yearly, with Enterprise on contact sales. A three-person Plus year is $672, and a five-person Business year is $1,092, using figures from Typeform's pricing page in October 2026.

Is Typeform free?

There is a free plan for one user and 10 responses a month, with embeds and a few integrations, which is enough to click through a form and not enough to run a campaign. Logic, payment collection, branding removal and a second user are not on it, so any form you actually send moves you onto a paid plan.

What are the best Typeform alternatives?

Fillout Starter is $180 for the year with unlimited seats and 2,000 responses a month, so three people pay less than Typeform Plus and still have seats left. Tally's free plan does not cap submissions, and Pro is €20/mo with unlimited members when branding removal is all you need. Jotform Bronze is $408/yr for one account and 1,000 submissions, and Enterprise is the only multiuser plan, so a shared team has no list price. SurveyMonkey Advantage is $468 for the year for one user and 15,000 responses, and Google Forms has no separate plan price.

What happens when a Typeform hits its response limit?

The form goes private at 100% of the monthly allowance, and people cannot open it until the next billing month or an upgrade, so a campaign can stop on the day it works. Deleting responses does not restore the allowance, so a test on the live form spends real capacity. Paid plans can turn on auto-upgrade, which bills the next response tier, and on monthly Basic that rate is $0.03 per response past 100, up to a ceiling of 750.
