Airtable Pricing 2026: Free, Team, Business and the Real Cost of Every Seat
Airtable Free, Team and Business prices per seat, who Airtable bills as a seat, 10-user totals and when Business costs less than Team. Checked October 2026.

Airtable costs $20 per seat a month on Team billed yearly ($24 billed monthly) and $45 per seat on Business billed yearly ($54 monthly), with a Free plan and a quote-only Enterprise Scale tier, as read on Airtable's pricing page and plans documentation on 18 October 2026. For 10 editors billed yearly, Team comes to $2,400 a year and Business to $5,400.
The sticker price is the easy part. The number that decides your bill is who Airtable counts as a seat, and the answer changes between Team and Business. On Team, anyone with comment access is billed; on Business, commenters are free. A base with many reviewers can be cheaper on the plan that costs more than twice as much per seat, and the scenario below shows where that line falls.
Toolradar data: on Toolradar, the software directory we run, Airtable is the most compared tool in Data & Databases out of 118 tools with 20+ compare-page visits, and it is listed as an alternative to 77 other tools, as of October 2026. Buyers rarely price Airtable alone, so this page prices it against Notion and Smartsheet too.
Every Airtable plan, billed yearly and monthly
| Plan | Per seat, per month (yearly) | Per seat, per month (monthly) | 10 seats, 12 months (yearly) | Records per base | Attachments per base | AI credits per seat, per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Free | Free | Free | 1,000 | 1GB | 500 |
| Team | $20 | $24 | $2,400 | 50,000 | 20GB | 15,000 |
| Business | $45 | $54 | $5,400 | 125,000 | 100GB | 20,000 |
| Enterprise Scale | Contact sales | Contact sales | Not published | 500,000 | 1TB | 25,000 at list price |
Totals multiply the per-seat rate by 10 seats and 12 months. Plan limits come from Airtable's plans documentation and the Enterprise Scale record and storage limits from the plan card on Airtable's pricing page, both read on 18 October 2026.
Monthly billing costs 20% more on both paid tiers. A 10-seat Business workspace pays $6,480 a year month to month against the yearly figure, a $1,080 gap, which is the price of more than four extra Team seats for a year. Yearly billing makes sense once the team has finished the 14-day trial and knows the base will stay.
What each Airtable plan includes
Free is a real product for a single person or a small group: unlimited bases, 1,000 records per base, 1GB of attachments per base, 1,000 API calls per workspace a month and two weeks of revision history. It caps editors and creators at 5 and commenters at 50, with unlimited read-only viewers. Record coloring and extensions are missing, and forms keep Airtable branding. The 1,000-record cap is the one that ends it: a content calendar or a small CRM reaches it inside a year.
Team is where Airtable becomes a team database. It lifts the cap to 50,000 records and 20GB per base, adds 100,000 API calls a month, a year of revision history, Interface Designer, timeline and Gantt views, extensions, locked and personal views, and restricted share links. Airtable's plan data lists 25,000 automation runs a month and 10 synced tables per base. A marketing or ops team of five to fifteen people that wants one shared base with forms and a dashboard lands here.
Business adds the admin panel, two-way sync, unlimited API calls, 125,000 records and 100GB of attachments per base, and 100,000 automation runs a month according to the plan card. It also changes who counts as a paid seat, which can make it cheaper than Team, as the scenario below shows. Business requires a private email domain: a Gmail or Yahoo account cannot upgrade to it.
Enterprise Scale is sold only through Airtable's sales team, and it is built for companies that need governance more than a cheaper seat. Its plan card lists 500,000 records and 1TB of attachments per base, 1,000,000 automation runs a month, 20 synced tables with automatic syncing, three years of revision and automation history, SAML single sign-on and a dedicated customer success manager. Airtable does not publish a price for it, and neither do we.
Who counts as a paid seat on Airtable?
This is the part most Airtable pricing pages skip, and it moves the bill more than the plan price does. Airtable bills per workspace, not per account, and it bills by permission level:
- Team bills commenters. Owners, creators, editors and commenters with access to at least one base in the workspace are all paid seats. Only read-only collaborators are free.
- Business does not bill commenters. Owners, creators and editors are paid seats; commenters and read-only collaborators are free.
- Forms and share links are free on every paid plan. Submitting a form or opening a shared view never creates a seat.
- Seats added mid-cycle are prorated, so adding an editor in month seven does not cost a full year.
The difference matters for any base that stakeholders review rather than edit. A product team where five people edit and twenty people leave comments on records is a 25-seat Team workspace, but a 5-seat Business workspace.
The scenario: when Business costs less than Team
We priced one realistic setup on yearly billing: 5 editors who build and maintain the base, plus a varying number of colleagues who only comment.
| Commenters | Team: billed seats | Team, 12 months | Business: billed seats | Business, 12 months | Cheaper plan |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 5 | $1,200 | 5 | $2,700 | Team |
| 4 | 9 | $2,160 | 5 | $2,700 | Team |
| 7 | 12 | $2,880 | 5 | $2,700 | Business |
| 20 | 25 | $6,000 | 5 | $2,700 | Business |
The break-even point is 1.25 commenters per editor. Team bills every editor and commenter; Business bills editors only, at more than twice the rate. Once commenters outnumber editors by more than a quarter, Business is cheaper and also brings the admin panel, two-way sync and the bigger record cap. Below that ratio, Team wins by a wide margin.
There is a third option the table does not show: switching commenters to read-only on Team. That keeps them free, but they lose the ability to comment on records, which is often the reason they were invited. If the comments can move to Slack or email, Team with read-only reviewers is the cheapest setup of all.

How much does Airtable AI cost?
Every Airtable plan includes AI credits for Omni, Airtable's built-in AI, according to its plans documentation. The monthly allowance is 500 credits per editor on Free, 15,000 per billable collaborator on Team, 20,000 per paid user on Business and 25,000 per paid user at list price on Enterprise Scale.
That makes AI part of the seat price, a contrast with Notion, where full AI sits only in Business. The catch is that Airtable lists the credit allowance per plan but not what each AI action consumes, so a heavy AI workload is hard to budget in advance. Run the trial on your own data before you commit a team to AI-driven fields or agents.
Airtable vs Notion vs Smartsheet for 10 seats
| Tool and plan | Per seat, per month (yearly) | 10 seats, 12 months (yearly) | Free viewers or contributors |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smartsheet Pro | $9 | $1,080 | Unlimited contributors, max 10 members |
| Notion Plus | $10 | $1,200 | Guests free |
| Smartsheet Business | $19 | $2,280 | Unlimited guests and contributors, 3+ members |
| Airtable Team | $20 | $2,400 | Read-only viewers |
| Notion Business | $20 | $2,400 | Guests free |
| Airtable Business | $45 | $5,400 | Read-only and commenters |
Notion prices come from Notion's pricing page and Smartsheet prices from Smartsheet's pricing page, both read in US dollars on 18 October 2026.
Airtable is the most expensive of the three at every tier. Team costs the same as Notion Business, which includes full Notion AI, and roughly double Smartsheet Pro. What the money buys is a real relational database: linked records, rollups, 50,000 records per base and interfaces built on top, which neither Notion's databases nor Smartsheet's sheets match for structured operational data.
The fair comparison depends on the job. A team that mostly writes docs and keeps light tables belongs on Notion; our Notion pricing breakdown prices it for 10 seats and our Airtable vs Notion comparison covers the feature split. A team that runs projects on Gantt charts gets more for less from Smartsheet. A team whose work is records flowing through stages, with forms in and dashboards out, is the team Airtable charges for.
Hidden costs and gotchas
- Commenters cost money on Team. Every commenter is billed as a full Team seat. Audit permissions before renewal.
- Record limits are per base, not per table. A base with two 25,000-record tables is already at Team's 50,000 cap. Airtable says you keep your data when over the limit but cannot add records until you upgrade.
- Automations and API calls stop at the cap. Airtable caps automation runs and API calls at the plan limit rather than billing overage, so a busy integration can stall mid-month.
- Business needs a company email domain. Workspaces created on a personal Gmail must change owner before upgrading.
- Billing is per workspace. Each workspace upgrades separately, so splitting departments into several workspaces can mean paying twice for the same person.
- Adding a card during the trial upgrades you. Entering a payment method during the 14-day Team trial converts the workspace to paid Team immediately.
- Discounts exist. Nonprofits and qualifying educational institutions get 50% off the monthly cost of Team, and students can get a free Team workspace for 6 to 24 months.
Which Airtable plan should you buy?
Stay on Free if you are one person or a group of five editors with fewer than 1,000 records per base. Move to Team when a base crosses that cap or you need interfaces, Gantt views and a year of history, and keep the reviewer list on read-only to hold the seat count down. Buy Business when commenters outnumber editors by more than a quarter, when you need the admin panel or two-way sync, or when a base will pass 50,000 records.
If none of those apply and the bill still looks high, compare the field first. Our best no-code app builders ranking covers tools that build apps on top of data, the Airtable review weighs its strengths and weaknesses beyond price, and the Notion review covers the most common alternative. Teams that use Airtable mainly to track projects should also read project management software pricing compared, which prices seven tools on a 10-user scenario, and the ClickUp pricing and monday.com pricing breakdowns. If automations are the real work, Zapier vs Make pricing shows what moving them out of Airtable would cost.

FAQ
How much does Airtable cost per user in 2026?
Airtable Team costs $20 per seat a month billed yearly or $24 billed monthly. Business costs $45 per seat billed yearly or $54 monthly. Enterprise Scale is sold on a quote, and the Free plan costs nothing for up to 5 editors.
How much does Airtable cost for 10 users?
Billed yearly, 10 seats cost $2,400 a year on Team and $5,400 on Business. Billed monthly, the same seats cost $2,880 on Team and $6,480 on Business. On Team, commenters count toward those 10 seats; on Business they do not.
Does Airtable charge for viewers and commenters?
Read-only collaborators, form submissions and share links are free on every paid plan. Commenters are billed on Team but free on self-serve Business, which is why Business can cost less than Team for a base with many reviewers.
Is there a free version of Airtable?
Yes. The Free plan includes unlimited bases with 1,000 records and 1GB of attachments per base, two weeks of revision history, 500 AI credits per editor a month and up to 5 editors. New accounts also get a 14-day Team trial on their first workspace.
Is Airtable AI included or extra?
Included. Every plan comes with a monthly AI credit allowance for Omni: 500 per editor on Free, 15,000 per billable collaborator on Team, 20,000 per paid user on Business and 25,000 on Enterprise Scale at list price. Airtable does not say how many credits each AI action uses.
Is Airtable more expensive than Notion?
Yes, at both paid tiers. Airtable Team costs the same per seat as Notion Business, which includes full Notion AI, and twice as much as Notion Plus. Airtable's case is its relational database and higher record limits, not price.
