Jotform Review 2026: Is It Worth It, and What Does It Really Cost?
What each Jotform plan includes for one login, when storage deletes old replies, and what five alternatives charge.
Jotform is worth yearly Bronze, at $34/mo billed annually, when one person needs about 1,000 submissions a month and no second login. Silver covers 2,500 submissions a month on the yearly bill, and Gold is $99/mo billed annually when you need HIPAA features. A second login is Enterprise, which publishes no list price.
Fillout Starter is $180 for the year with unlimited seats, so a shared team has a number to approve. Cognito Pro already includes two users on its yearly plan, so a colleague can have a login without a quote. Tally does not count submissions on the free plan, and its paid plan is priced in euros.
Key factsBest for: One person who needs more submissions, payments, or HIPAA…
- A one-login form account whose second user is a custom Enterprise quote.
- Free plan: Starter is free, one user, and 100 submissions a month
- Yearly Bronze: Yearly Bronze is the cheapest paid plan on the pricing page
- One login: Self-serve plans are each a one-user individual plan
- At the cap: A full monthly limit disables the forms after a warning
Pros
- Yearly Bronze covers 1,000 submissions a month, 25 forms, and branding removal, so a public form can drop the Jotform logo
- Gold adds HIPAA features, 100 forms, and 10,000 submissions a month
- Self-serve plans can be refunded in full within 30 days of payment
Cons
- Enterprise is the only multiuser plan, and it publishes no list price
- A full monthly limit disables the forms, and a full storage total deletes the oldest reply

Jotform is a sensible buy for one operator and a weak fit for a team that needs a second password. The checkout sells one account through Gold, so a colleague who wants their own login is already outside every self-serve plan.
The decision is whether one login can own the forms, because the alternative is a sales conversation.
Toolradar data: Toolradar tracks 84 form builders as of October 17, 2026.
Jotform is listed as an alternative to 52 of them, behind Typeform at 53, and it drew 202 side-by-side comparisons in the prior 90 days.
Across the 26 tools that publish a cheapest paid plan, the median is $15.50 a month, so Bronze's monthly rate sits above that median.
That gap is the premium for payments, uploads, and a larger allowance, and it still does not buy a second login.
If you need a shared team rather than one login, start with our best form builders page.

What is Jotform?
Jotform is an online form builder for payments, signed documents, and file uploads, sold as one account with rising caps.
Starter is free, Bronze, Silver, and Gold are the paid self-serve plans, and Enterprise is a custom quote once a second person needs a login.
The pricing page, read in October 2026, labels each of those four self-serve plans a one-user individual plan.
Enterprise is the only multiuser plan in that FAQ, and the extras include SSO, a custom domain, and HIPAA features.
Starter is 5 forms and 100 submissions a month, with branding left on and HIPAA unavailable. That is enough to test a form, and too thin for a public signup that has to look like your company.
Bronze is where branding can come off, at 25 forms and a higher monthly allowance, but a clinic cannot stop there.
Silver raises the monthly allowance to 2,500 submissions, which covers a busier month on the same login.
Gold is the first self-serve plan with HIPAA features and a 10,000-submission allowance, so a clinic buys Gold or waits on a quote.
AI agents have a separate meter on every plan, including Starter, so that quota can run out while submissions still have room.
There is no paid trial, so Starter is the only way to click through standard features, and HIPAA stays off the free account.
How Jotform works
You build a form, publish a link or an embed, and submissions land in the account that owns the form. Monthly counts for submissions, views, payments, and signed documents reset on the first day of the usage cycle.
Deleting a row does not return the slot, so a test on the live form spends capacity you cannot refill.
Jotform's limits guide, updated October 10, 2025, says a monthly limit or a full upload space triggers a warning email.
The forms then disable on the date in that email and show a "Form over quota" message. A busy month can close the form even when another meter still has room.
Storage is a running total, not a monthly clock.
Once it is full, Jotform deletes the oldest saved response and the form keeps accepting new ones, so collection survives and history does not.
Download an export before you reach that total, because a purged reply does not come back.
Payment submissions are their own monthly meter, counted across every form that takes a payment, and signed documents sit on a separate meter.
A shop under the submission cap can still trip the payment cap and disable the forms.
A regular plan can open a team workspace, and each of those teams holds one member, so the workspace does not hand a colleague a login. Sharing the password is prohibited in the terms, so one shared login is not an allowed workaround.
Several people who create forms or read submission data need Enterprise, which is a quote rather than a seat at checkout.
If the job is closer to a survey with analysis than to a payment form, read our SurveyMonkey review.
These meters collect replies rather than help you study the answers. If the answers need their own base, the Airtable review is the next stop, and the Zapier review covers moving them between apps.
Jotform key features
Jotform pricing
Jotform lists Starter, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Enterprise on its pricing page, checked in October 2026. The yearly toggle is labeled save up to 20%, so the annual rate is the one to approve if you will stay the year.
Monthly billing is the higher number if you might leave inside the year. Accounts in Europe are charged in euros, and accounts elsewhere are charged in dollars, so the dollar prices here are not the European bill.
Bronze is $39/mo, or $408 for the year on annual billing, for one user and branding removal.
It still will not add a colleague or HIPAA. Silver is $49/mo on the monthly toggle and $468 for the year when billed annually, which is the bill for a busier month on one login.
Gold is $129/mo, or $99/mo billed annually, which is $1,188 for the year, and the first self-serve plan with HIPAA features.
Exceeding a monthly allowance does not raise the bill, because the forms shut off instead, and clearing old rows will not buy the month back.
Filling submission storage deletes the oldest response while collection continues, so export if you still need the early replies.
Schools and nonprofits can apply for 50% off Bronze, Silver, and Gold, on monthly or yearly billing.
The discount is not on the form until it is approved, so do not budget the lower number on day one. Enterprise user fees for those organizations are 30% off, per the Enterprise FAQ.
Other promotions apply when you move to a higher yearly plan, and the next renewal returns to list price.
Enterprise has no published price, and the quote depends on seats, security, the kind of data, and add-ons. The base package includes up to five permitted users, and further users are sold in bundles of five.
You cannot add a single seat the way a per-user plan can.
The whole term is paid up front, with no month-to-month option, no trial, and no 30-day refund, because the server is set up for that account. A self-serve plan keeps the 30-day refund on the pricing page.
The other five tools were priced from their own pages the same week.
Fillout shows Starter at $15/mo billed annually, $180 for the year, as a flat bill with unlimited seats. Pro is $40/mo billed annually, $480 for the year, and Business is $75/mo billed annually, $900 for the year, which is where a custom domain lands.
Every plan, including free, lists unlimited seats, so you pay for response room rather than for people.
Free includes 1,000 responses a month, and Fillout says the form keeps accepting replies after the cap.
The count returns to zero on the first of the month, so a spike fills the inbox instead of closing the page.
Cognito Forms prices in dollars, in the same currency as Jotform's published plans.
Individual is free for one user and 100 entries a month, and extra users cannot be added. The free plan is solo in the same way Starter is.
Pro is $24/mo, or $19/mo billed annually, with two users, 2,000 entries, and extra users at $5/user/mo, so a third person has a price before sales.
Team is $49/mo on the monthly toggle, with a lower annual rate, five users, and 10,000 entries, so five people stay on a published plan.
Enterprise is $174/mo, or $129/mo billed annually, with 20 users, unlimited entries, and HIPAA, which is the clinic plan when many people must log in.
A 14-day trial does not ask for a card, and Cognito's HIPAA page says the agreement is Enterprise only, and not on a trial.
Typeform shows Basic at $28/mo billed yearly, for one user and 100 responses, so steady traffic outgrows it.
Plus is $56/mo billed yearly, for three users and 1,000 responses. Business is $91/mo billed yearly, for five users and 10,000 responses, which is $1,092 for the year.
Six users are a sales conversation on that page too, so the quote starts later than it does on Jotform.
The head-to-head on layout is Typeform vs Jotform, and the longer write-up is our Typeform review.
Tally is priced in euros, so the dollar totals above are not what a European card pays.
Pro is €20/mo and Business is €65/mo, and yearly billing drops two months from both if you will keep the tool. The free plan does not cap forms or submissions, inside a fair-use line Tally does not number.
A spiky form can stay free until branding has to come off.
Google Forms does not list a Forms-only price, so an existing Google bill gains no form line.
Responses can be charted in the form and exported to Sheets, and the product page describes logic, quizzes, and sharing with other people.
Put the shared-team bills next to Jotform's missing number, which is the decision when you are not working alone.
Two people fit on Cognito Pro's yearly rate, and Fillout Starter keeps unlimited seats at 2,000 responses a month.
Three people on Typeform Plus pay $672 for the year. Five people on Cognito Team pay the same yearly bill as one Jotform Silver account, and each has a login.
Jotform publishes no price for any of those shared teams.
Methodology: each vendor pricing page was read on 17 October 2026, and the plan price and the limit were taken as printed. Yearly totals are twelve times the billed-annually rate shown on that page.
Headcount was matched to the smallest plan whose published user count covers it. Toolradar supplies the category count, the alternative count, the comparison count, and the median only.

Jotform pros and cons
What we like
- Yearly Bronze covers 1,000 submissions a month, 25 forms, and branding removal, so a public form can drop the Jotform logo
- Gold adds HIPAA features, 100 forms, and 10,000 submissions a month
- Self-serve plans can be refunded in full within 30 days of payment
What could be better
- Enterprise is the only multiuser plan, and it publishes no list price
- A full monthly limit disables the forms, and a full storage total deletes the oldest reply
Who Jotform is for
Jotform fits one person who will own the forms, such as a founder taking payments or a freelancer collecting files.
Buy yearly Bronze when that allowance covers the month, yearly Silver when the month runs past it, and yearly Gold when HIPAA features are required.
Skip it when a second person must log in, or when a full month would take the form offline in front of customers.
Also skip it when the oldest replies have to stay in the account forever.
Fillout and Cognito publish a price for more than one user, and their profiles are on Toolradar and on Cognito Forms' listing.
Tally is the path when you do not want a submission meter at all.
The free end of that shelf is our best free survey tools page. Google Forms is the internal default when the team already keeps answers in Sheets.
The survey-shaped end of the category is best survey software.
Typeform's one-question layout is a different product, covered on Toolradar's Typeform page.
Best Jotform alternatives

The bottom line
Buy yearly Bronze, Silver, or Gold when one person owns the account and the month fits the allowance, at the yearly totals in the pricing section.
A second login, a prepaid Enterprise term, and a missing refund on that term are the reasons to leave.
Fillout is the lower published bill when seats are the constraint, because unlimited logins stay on one flat fee. Cognito prices a second user in the open and puts HIPAA on its own Enterprise plan.
A clinic that needs both will not find them on a cheap card. Tally does not meter free submissions, and Google Forms fits an internal list that already lives in Sheets.
