Zendesk Pricing 2026: Suite Plans, Copilot and the AI Meter

Zendesk pricing in 2026: Support Team $19 and Suite plans from $55 per agent a month billed yearly, the Copilot add-on, AI resolution fees and a 10-agent bill.

Zendesk Pricing 2026: Suite Plans, Copilot and the AI Meter

Zendesk costs $19 per agent a month for Support Team, $55 for Suite Team and $115 for Suite Professional when you pay yearly, or $25, $69 and $149 paid month to month. Suite Enterprise is sold through sales. Copilot adds $50 per agent a month on Professional and above, and AI agent resolutions beyond the plan allowance cost $1.50 to $2.00 each.

The seat price is only the first line of a Zendesk invoice. The plan decides which channels you get, Copilot is a second per-agent fee, and the AI agent runs on a usage meter that grows with every ticket it closes. Our view: for most teams the AI meter, not the seat, is the number to model before signing a yearly contract.

All prices were read on 19 October 2026 on Zendesk's US pricing page, including its plan comparison table and pricing FAQ, with the resolution rules from Zendesk's help center articles on automated resolutions and resolution tiers.

Toolradar data: Zendesk is listed as an alternative to 103 other tools on Toolradar's Zendesk profile, the most of the 28 help desk tools Toolradar compares, as of October 2026. Only 5 of those 28 offer a free plan, and Zendesk is not one of them, so the trial is the only free way in.

How much does each Zendesk plan cost?

Zendesk sells one Support plan and three Suite plans, all priced per agent per month. The pricing page toggles between Monthly and Annual billing, so the table keeps the two in separate columns.

Plan Billed yearly (per agent/month) Billed monthly (per agent/month) Who it is for
Support Team $19 $25 Email ticketing, routing, prebuilt dashboards, macros and automations
Suite Team $55 $69 Adds messaging and live chat, telephony, a help center, the AI knowledge base and omnichannel routing
Suite Professional $115 $149 Adds skills-based routing, SLAs, IVR, up to 5 help centers, HIPAA and AI admin tools
Suite Enterprise + Copilot Contact sales Contact sales Adds approval workflows, a sandbox, custom agent roles and Copilot

There is no free plan. The 14-day trial runs on Suite Professional by default with Copilot switched on, so a team trialing Zendesk sees features that its eventual plan may not include. Early-stage startups can apply for a separate program that gives a 6-month Suite trial for up to 50 agents.

What does monthly billing cost you?

The toggle says "20% off annual", but the real gap is wider on two of the three plans. Comparing the two printed prices, yearly billing saves 24% on Support Team ($6 per agent a month), 20% on Suite Team ($14) and 23% on Suite Professional ($34).

For a 10-agent team on Suite Professional, that difference is $340 a month, or $4,080 over a year. Monthly billing buys the right to cut seats or leave, which is worth paying for during a migration or a seasonal peak, but a stable team that knows its headcount loses real money on it.

Zendesk's pricing FAQ adds that contracts can run month to month, yearly or for several years, and that plan changes may apply immediately or only at renewal depending on the subscription terms. A team that downgrades mid-contract should confirm which applies before counting on the savings.

Support Team vs Suite Team: what the jump buys

Support Team is an email help desk, and Suite Team is the first plan with live chat and phone. That $36 gap per agent a month on yearly billing pays for the channels most customer-facing teams expect in 2026.

Support Team covers email and ticketing, ticket routing, prebuilt analytics, pre-written responses, customer context, and automations and triggers. The comparison table shows no help center, no messaging and no telephony on it. A small B2B team that handles every request by email can run on it for years.

Suite Team adds messaging and live chat across web, app and social channels, telephony with the per-minute voice charges billed as an add-on, a help center in one language, the AI knowledge base and AI agents across those new channels. Most teams that want a chat widget on their website start here.

Suite Professional is where operations tooling begins. It adds skills-based routing, service level agreements, multiple ticket forms, conditional fields, an IVR phone tree, up to 5 help centers in 40+ languages, HIPAA enablement, AI writing tools and an Admin Copilot. A regulated team or one running several brands has little choice but to start at this tier.

How much does Zendesk Copilot cost?

Copilot is $50 per agent a month on yearly billing, and it can only be added to Professional and higher plans. The pricing page shows no monthly rate for it, so budget on the yearly figure and confirm the monthly price with sales if you need flexibility.

Copilot is the agent-side AI. On the pricing page it covers auto assist (suggested next steps and drafted replies inside the agent workspace), intelligent triage that classifies every ticket, suggested first replies, ticket summaries and writing tools. It does not answer customers by itself; that is the AI agent, metered separately below.

The add-on changes the effective seat price a lot. Suite Professional plus Copilot is $165 per agent a month on yearly billing, which is the realistic price for a Professional team that wants AI help for its human agents. Suite Enterprise bundles Copilot into its name, but Zendesk publishes no list price for it.

How does the Zendesk AI meter work?

Zendesk bills its AI agents per automated resolution: a customer request the AI closes without handing it to a human. Zendesk's FAQ says AI agents come with every Suite and Support plan; each plan includes an allowance, and anything above it is charged per resolution.

Plan Included automated resolutions For 10 agents
Support Team 5 per agent a month 600 a year
Suite Team 5 per agent a month 600 a year
Suite Professional 10 per agent a month 1,200 a year

Above the allowance, every plan pays $1.50 per resolution bought in advance (committed) or $2.00 per resolution billed as used (pay as you go).

Three rules from the help center change the math. The allowance tops out at 10,000 automated resolutions a year on every plan, light agents do not count toward it, and it expires annually or at the end of a shorter term. Committed resolutions are bought in blocks of 100 or more, and an account can cap usage so the AI agent pauses at the limit instead of running into overage.

On 18 May 2026 Zendesk introduced resolution tiers. On that model, only a verified resolution, one that a large language model confirms solved the customer's request, draws from the allowance. A contained resolution (the customer stopped replying but the check did not pass) and an assisted escalation (the AI helped before a human closed it) do not count. Accounts still on the older platform stay there until they move.

That makes the meter less punishing than it looks, but the cost still scales with success. The better your AI agent gets, the more resolutions it bills.

What a 10-agent team pays per year

These scenarios use yearly billing, multiply the printed per-agent price by 10 agents and 12 months, and add AI resolutions at the committed rate. They exclude tax, voice minutes and negotiated discounts.

Setup Seats per year AI resolutions Yearly total
Support Team, email only, no AI $2,280 None $2,280
Suite Team, chat and phone, AI agent idle $6,600 Within the 600 included $6,600
Suite Team, AI agent closes 300 requests a month $6,600 3,000 above the allowance, committed rate $11,100
Suite Professional + Copilot, AI closes 300 a month $19,800 2,400 above the allowance, committed rate $23,400

The third row is the one to show a finance lead. At 300 verified resolutions a month, the AI line adds 68% to the Suite Team seat bill, and paying as you go instead of committing would add another $1,500 a year. The allowance (5 or 10 per agent a month) is small next to what an AI agent on a busy help center can close.

Professional's larger allowance offsets part of its higher seat price, but only part: its 1,200 included resolutions save $900 a year against Suite Team's allowance at the committed rate, while the seats cost $7,200 more before Copilot.

How does Zendesk compare with Freshdesk, Help Scout and Intercom?

Zendesk ties for the cheapest paid email seat, and gets expensive once you add AI help for agents. Rival prices were read on 19 October 2026 on the Freshdesk pricing page, Help Scout pricing page and Intercom pricing page, all on yearly billing.

Need, yearly billing Zendesk Freshdesk Help Scout Intercom
Entry paid seat Support Team $19 Growth, same price Standard $25 Essential, same price
Mid-tier seat Suite Team $55 Pro, same price Plus $45 Advanced $85
Agent-assist AI Copilot $50 per agent, Professional and up Freddy AI Copilot $29 per agent, Pro and up Unlimited AI Drafts included on Plus Copilot $29 per teammate
AI that answers customers $1.50 to $2.00 per resolution above the allowance 500 sessions included, then $49 per 100 $0.75 per resolution $0.99 per outcome

The seat prices are close; the AI pricing is not. Zendesk's per-resolution fee runs one and a half to two times Intercom's $0.99 per outcome and two to nearly three times Help Scout's $0.75 per resolution, though Zendesk includes an allowance before charging. Freshdesk meters by session rather than by resolution, which makes its bill harder to compare line for line. Agent-assist AI also costs more on Zendesk: Freshdesk and Intercom both list it at $29 per seat.

Zendesk's advantage is breadth: chat, phone, help center and AI agents on one Suite bill, with the plan most help desk shortlists are measured against. For a deeper side-by-side, our help desk pricing comparison prices five agents across four vendors, and Intercom pricing breaks down the per-outcome model.

Which Zendesk plan should you buy?

Buy Support Team if email is your only channel. It is the cheapest way into Zendesk's ticketing and automations, and you can move to a Suite plan later without changing tools.

Buy Suite Team when customers expect chat or phone. It is the entry point for live chat, telephony and a help center, and its AI allowance is enough to test an AI agent on a small slice of traffic before committing to more.

Buy Suite Professional for SLAs, skills-based routing, several brands or HIPAA. Add Copilot only if your agents will use drafted replies and triage every day, since it raises the seat price by more than 40% on that plan.

Before signing a yearly contract, estimate how many requests the AI agent will close each month and price them at the committed rate. That single number moves the Zendesk bill more than the choice between two adjacent plans.

Sources and method

We read Zendesk's pricing page, its comparison table and FAQ on 19 October 2026 in US dollars, and the help center articles on automated resolutions and resolution tiers the same day. Competitor prices come from each vendor's own pricing page on that date. Team totals multiply printed per-agent prices by seats and 12 months; AI costs apply the printed committed rate to resolutions above the included allowance. They are arithmetic on list prices, not quotes. We did not run a Zendesk account for this page.
