SurveyMonkey Pricing 2026: Plans, Response Limits and Team Costs
SurveyMonkey pricing in 2026: a three-person Team Advantage year is $1,080, and Premier is $3,312. Compare limits and potential overage charges.

For a three-person team that needs a login each, SurveyMonkey Team Advantage is $30 per user a month billed annually: $1,080 for the year, with 50,000 responses shared. Team Premier is $92 per user a month on that same annual term, $3,312 for the year and 100,000 responses. A solo user whose work fits the individual allowance can consider Advantage Annual at $39 a month, $468 billed once, with 15,000 responses.
Those figures are U.S. list prices on SurveyMonkey's pricing page and its individual plans page, read on 28 October 2026. The team cards are annual only, and they require at least three users. A pair that wants shared roles still pays for a third seat they may never fill. Buy an individual plan when one person builds the surveys, and compare Premier when you need its features or the cost of extra responses could exceed the step up. Templates and the editor sit in our SurveyMonkey review.
Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, evaluates 84 form builders as of 27 October 2026, on its form builders ranking. That count is the size of the category, not a measure of survey responses. SurveyMonkey's directory record is SurveyMonkey on Toolradar. Techpresso data: this newsletter reaches 790,000+ subscribers, with an average open rate of 37%, from the audience file dated October 25, 2026.
SurveyMonkey plans at a glance
| Plan | Price | Responses included | Seats on the card |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | Free | A limited number per survey, not printed; 10 questions per survey | 1 |
| Standard Monthly | $149 a month, billed monthly | 1,000 a month | 1 |
| Advantage Annual | $39 a month, $468 billed annually | 15,000 a year | 1 |
| Premier Annual | $139 a month, $1,668 billed annually | 40,000 a year | 1 |
| Team Advantage | $30 per user a month, billed annually, 3-user minimum | 50,000 a year, shared | 3 or more |
| Team Premier | $92 per user a month, billed annually, 3-user minimum | 100,000 a year, shared | 3 or more |
| Enterprise | Does not publish a price (the card says Get a demo) | Custom | 5 or more |
The yearly totals on the individual cards are 12 times the monthly rate beside them, so the annual figure is the invoice. Team prices are per user. Self-service paid allowances count responses across surveys and, for teams, across users. Basic has a per-survey viewing limit that appears after you sign up or log in.

How much does a three-person team pay for the year?
The scenario is three people, each with a login, for one year, at list price. It leaves out response overage, an Audience panel purchase, analyst seats, and any student or nonprofit discount. Taxes are not on the pricing cards, so treat the years below as the pre-tax floor.
| Way to buy three logins, or fewer | Year at list price | Responses | Three logins? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Team Advantage, 3 seats | $1,080 | 50,000 shared | Yes |
| Team Premier, 3 seats | $3,312 | 100,000 shared | Yes |
| Three Advantage Annual accounts | $1,404 | 15,000 on each account, not shared | Yes, without team admin tools |
| Two Advantage Annual accounts | $936 | each account's own annual allowance, not shared | No, a pair cannot open a team plan |
| One Advantage Annual account | The solo annual bill in the table above | the individual annual allowance | No, and logins may not be shared |
| Standard Monthly, one user, kept for a full year | $1,788 | 1,000 a month, 12,000 in the year | No |
The team years above are the printed per-user monthly rate times 3 seats across a full year. SurveyMonkey does not print a monthly team rate, so a team that wants to leave after a month has no team card to buy. Three separate Advantage accounts cost $324 more than the team plan and do not pool responses, so a collaborating trio pays less on the team plan and shares one allowance.
Team plans require a minimum of 3 users, which is why a pair overpays: two people either buy two individual accounts at $936 for the year or pay for a third seat they may never fill. You pay for every seat once per billing cycle, and reassigning an empty seat does not remove its cost. Ask support in advance if you want to reduce the team size before renewal.
Which individual plan should replace a team plan?
Buy an individual plan when one person builds the surveys and everyone else only needs a link, or when a third seat would sit empty. The public individual page offers four cards, and no monthly version of Advantage or Premier, so a short project and a year of surveying are different buys.
Basic: free, with a cap you cannot see until you log in
Basic costs nothing, and it suits one person trying the editor or sending a short survey they can outgrow. Unlimited surveys, an AI builder, a web link, and a Zapier integration are included, and each survey stops at 10 questions. The response cap is described as limited and shows up only after you sign up or log in. Free users must upgrade to view responses past it. SurveyMonkey says over-limit responses are automatically deleted one year after collection, so upgrade before deletion if you need to retain access.
Standard Monthly: the only paid card you can leave after a month
Standard Monthly is the card SurveyMonkey points one-survey buyers to, alongside Basic, and the only paid plan with month-to-month billing. One user gets unlimited questions, the monthly allowance in the table, custom design, skip logic, email invitations, data exports, and 200+ integrations on top of Basic. Keeping it for a year is a poor trade against Advantage Annual. Four months at this rate is $596, already past the Advantage annual bill, and those four months include up to 1,000 responses in each month, against the annual plan's full allowance. A full year on the monthly card comes to $1,788 for 12,000 responses, so annual billing may cost less from month four if its features and annual allowance meet your needs.
Standard can cost less for a short project of one to three months, subject to response limits and features. One survey under the monthly allowance costs one Standard payment, which is what SurveyMonkey's own FAQ recommends when you need one survey. Automatic billing is on by default, so the next invoice arrives unless you turn auto-renew off. With auto-renew off, the account drops to a free plan at the end of the cycle, and responses over the Basic limit older than 365 days are deleted. Count that loss in the same budget as the first invoice.
Who should buy Advantage Annual, and who should pay for Premier
Advantage Annual fits someone who will survey all year and needs more than a link and a spreadsheet. It adds premium themes, more logic, payment collection, statistical significance, multi-survey analysis, programs for ongoing surveys, AI analysis, and thematic analysis. Skip it for one survey this quarter: there is no public monthly price, so anyone who might leave after a month stays on Standard Monthly and turns auto-renew off. Premier Annual fits a survey that must wear your brand or run in more than one language. It adds white-label branding, a completion redirect, advanced logic, block randomization, multilingual surveys, crosstabs, and phone support. Both cards are one seat, so a colleague who needs a login is a separate purchase.
Premier's annual bill is $1,200 more than Advantage Annual. If each extra response costs $0.15, that gap pays for 8,000 extra responses: the modeled bills are equal at 23,000 responses, and Premier costs less above that count up to its 40,000 allowance. Confirm your rate and plan terms before using this crossover.
Where overage responses change the bill for a team
On paid plans, responses count across every survey and, on a team, across users, so one busy survey can spend the allowance everyone else was counting on. The U.S. pricing FAQ and response-limit guide state $0.15 per additional self-service response, while the plan-details comparison says up to $0.15. Confirm your account's actual charge before budgeting. Audience responses are sold separately; ask SurveyMonkey how those responses affect your account allowance. Basic does not use this overage: you upgrade to see responses past its unpublished cap.
Assuming both self-service plans charge $0.15 for each excess response, the two team years meet at 64,880 responses. Premier costs $2,232 more, equivalent to 14,880 extra responses past Team Advantage's allowance. Below that count Advantage is cheaper in this model; above it and through Premier's included allowance, Premier is cheaper. The result changes if your actual rate differs; confirm both plans' overage terms.
At an assumed $0.15 each, 10,000 excess responses add $1,500. On Standard Monthly, 1,000 excess responses add $150 under the same assumption. Your actual rate may differ. If you run a seasonal survey, an all-hands, or a launch, price that peak month. Annual plans pool the year, and Standard caps each month.
What each team plan adds beyond the seats you pay for
Team Advantage is for three or more people who each create or send surveys under one brand. The seats include shared brand assets, user roles, and the Advantage analysis set, with 20 AI prompts per survey on the plan details. If only one person builds surveys, an individual plan avoids paying for a seat nobody will use. Team Premier is for a survey that cannot show SurveyMonkey branding, or for a team that wants phone support. It raises the AI allowance to 50 prompts per survey, and the card still requires 3 or more users.
Enterprise does not publish a price, and the card says Get a demo. It starts at 5 users, sets a custom response limit, and on top of Team Premier adds single sign-on, a US, Canada, or EU data center, and admin controls such as centralized billing. A company that needs those is in a sales conversation, and the budget is the quote.
Students and educators in the US and UK can get special pricing, and nonprofits and charities may qualify for a discount. The FAQ does not print the percentage, so a discounted bill is whatever checkout or the education form shows, not a number to put in a budget from this page.
SurveyMonkey versus Typeform for a team of three users
Typeform prices three users as one flat fee, not a per-seat minimum you have to fill. On Typeform's pricing page, read the same day, Plus is $56 a month billed yearly, $672 for the year, with 3 users and 1,000 responses a month. That year is $408 under the SurveyMonkey three-seat year. Typeform's allowance resets every month, including on the yearly term, while Team Advantage can spend its yearly pool in a single month. A launch with several thousand responses in a fortnight can fit SurveyMonkey's annual pool but exceeds the base Typeform Plus monthly allowance. Typeform offers higher allowances for an additional charge or an upgrade; compare the actual quotes for your peak.
A steady lead form is the smaller bill on Typeform, and a research project with a peak is what the SurveyMonkey pool is for. The plans are not the same product: Typeform Plus removes branding from a form, while Team Advantage adds shared assets, roles, and analysis. Seats, devices, and the bill checkout does not show up front
Each collaborator needs their own seat, which is why the solo annual bill is not a three-person price. Full Access seats can create, send, analyze, and share surveys. Team plans start at 3 Full Access seats, and one of them is the primary admin, who manages billing, so the minimum is three people who can build rather than three people who only look. Analyst seats, which SurveyMonkey also calls contributor seats, can view and comment on shared surveys and analyze results. They are optional, sold in pairs, and SurveyMonkey does not publish an analyst seat price, so that line of the bill waits until checkout.
Each user can register up to 2 devices, and accounts are for individual use only and may not be shared, so three people on one Advantage login breaks the terms. Invite more people than you have seats and you pay a prorated overage the FAQ does not print. That charge shows up only when the invitation passes the seats already paid for. A panel purchase sits outside every total here, on top of the plan and of any overage from your own collectors.
Frequently asked questions
How much does SurveyMonkey cost in 2026?
Team Advantage is $30 per user a month billed annually, with a three-user minimum, so a pair cannot buy it, and Team Premier is $92 per user a month on the same annual term. A single user pays nothing on Basic, $149 a month on Standard Monthly, $39 a month on Advantage Annual ($468 for the year), or $139 a month on Premier Annual ($1,668 for the year). Enterprise does not publish a price, so that contract is a quote. These are the list prices on SurveyMonkey's pricing pages on 28 October 2026.
How much does SurveyMonkey cost for 3 users?
$1,080 for the year on Team Advantage and $3,312 for the year on Team Premier. That is the printed per-user monthly rate times 3 full-access seats times 12 months, with the team inside its response allowance and with no analyst seats or panel responses added. Three separate Advantage Annual accounts cost $1,404 and do not share one response pool, so a collaborating trio pays more for separate logins.
Does SurveyMonkey have a free plan?
Yes. Basic is free for one user, with unlimited surveys and 10 questions per survey. The response cap is limited and is not printed on the pricing page. You see the number after you sign up or log in, and you have to upgrade to view responses past it. Excess responses are automatically deleted one year after collection unless you upgrade in time.
What happens if you go over SurveyMonkey's response limit?
SurveyMonkey's U.S. FAQ states $0.15 per additional response on self-service plans, while its plan-details table says up to that amount. Check your account terms. On Basic, excess responses are hidden and automatically deleted after one year unless you upgrade in time. Audience responses are purchased separately; confirm how they count against your allowance.
Is annual or monthly billing cheaper on SurveyMonkey?
For a four-month project that fits either plan, the annual individual plan has a lower base subscription cost. Four months of Standard Monthly is $596, already more than the $468 Advantage year; its monthly response limits do not roll over. Standard Monthly is the cheaper cash outlay only for a short project, and auto-renew is on unless you turn it off, so a forgotten cancellation wipes out the savings. Team Advantage and Team Premier are shown as annual plans only, so a team has no month-to-month card.
Is SurveyMonkey cheaper than Typeform for a team of three?
Not on a steady monthly volume: Typeform Plus is $56 a month billed yearly, $672 for the year, with 3 users and 1,000 responses a month, which is $408 less than SurveyMonkey's three-seat Team Advantage year when responses arrive evenly. SurveyMonkey's yearly pool can accommodate a peak that exceeds Typeform's base monthly allowance. Typeform offers additional monthly capacity or a higher tier, so compare the actual price of your projected peak before deciding. See our Typeform review.
Can two people share one SurveyMonkey account?
The pricing FAQ says no: each person who collaborates needs their own seat, each user can register up to 2 devices, and accounts are for individual use only and may not be shared. A pair cannot buy a team plan, because the minimum is 3 users. Two Advantage Annual accounts are the public way for two people to each have a login, at $936 for the year, unless they would rather pay for an empty third seat.
Sources and method
Prices, response allowances, seat minimums, and the overage rate were read on 28 October 2026 on SurveyMonkey's pricing page, the individual plans page, and the plan details comparison. The three-seat years multiply the printed per-user monthly price by 3 and by 12. The four-month Standard total multiplies $149 by 4. The overage crossover divides the $2,232 gap between the two team years by an assumed $0.15 per-response charge; the vendor's descriptions differ, so confirm your terms. Individual annual totals are the amounts printed on the cards, which match 12 times the printed monthly rate. Typeform's three-user price was read the same day on Typeform's pricing page. None of these totals include tax, a nonprofit or education discount, analyst seats, or Audience responses.
We did not run a SurveyMonkey account for this page, and we give no rating. The category size comes from Toolradar's form builders ranking, and Typeform on Toolradar is the other directory record used here. The Techpresso editorial team prepared this page. How products are assessed is on how we rate, corrections go through the editorial policy, and the author note is on about.
SurveyMonkey can change a card without a long notice, and the Basic response cap is deliberately hidden until login, so read the pricing page again before you pay for a year.
