DocuSign Pricing 2026: Plans, Envelope Caps and Overage

DocuSign pricing in 2026: Personal $10, Standard $25 and Business Pro $40 per user a month billed yearly, or $15, $45 and $65 monthly, with envelope caps explained.

DocuSign Pricing 2026: Plans, Envelope Caps and Overage

DocuSign eSignature costs $10 a month on Personal, $25 per user on Standard and $40 per user on Business Pro when you pay for a year up front, which DocuSign bills as $120, $300 and $480 per user. Month to month, the same plans cost $15, $45 and $65. Every plan caps envelopes: 5 a month on Personal, 100 per user a year on annual Standard and Business Pro.

Those caps are the part of DocuSign's pricing that decides your real bill. A seat price tells you what one sender pays; the envelope allowance tells you how many agreements that sender can push out before DocuSign starts charging for each extra one. A busy sales rep can burn a year's allowance in a quarter.

Prices were read on 19 October 2026 on DocuSign's eSignature plans page, including its plan comparison chart and FAQ. Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 57 e-signature tools as of 19 October 2026, and DocuSign is the most compared of them, with 376 side-by-side comparisons on Toolradar over the last 90 days. If you are one of those comparing, start with the envelope cap, because it moves the bill more than the seat price does.

DocuSign plans at a glance

Plan Annual billing (per user, per month) Billed for the year Monthly billing Envelopes Users
Personal $10 $120 $15 5 a month 1
Standard $25 $300 per user $45 100 per user a year (10 a month on monthly plans) Up to 50
Business Pro $40 $480 per user $65 100 per user a year (10 a month on monthly plans) Up to 50
Enhanced plans Contact sales Contact sales Contact sales Custom limit 50 and more

Annual billing saves 33% on Personal, 44% on Standard and 38% on Business Pro against paying monthly. Tax may be added on top of every price, per the plan cards.

Some US visitors also see a test lineup on that page, an "Annual, billed monthly" option: a full-year commitment paid in 12 installments of $11, $30 or $45 per user ($132, $360 or $540 a year), which costs more than paying the year up front. Cancel it after the first 30 days and DocuSign's FAQ says you owe the rest of the year.

What each plan includes

Personal is a one-person plan with a hard ceiling. It covers 5 envelopes a month, reusable templates, an AI-assisted agreement summary, storage for your agreements and DocuSign's integrations. It has no shared templates, no custom branding and no second user, so it fits a freelancer who sends a contract or two a week.

Standard is the default team plan. It adds up to 50 users, shared templates and folders, team reports, user permissions, real-time commenting, your own branding, scheduled sending, in-person signing and delegated signing. New Standard accounts also get 5 SMS deliveries and 5 identity verifications as a one-time bonus, after which those are paid add-ons.

Business Pro is for teams that collect data and money inside the agreement. It adds payment collection during signing, web forms, bulk send, PowerForms, signer attachments, locked templates, drop-down and radio fields, drawing fields and real-time data verification as signers type. If none of those appear in your workflow, Standard does the same signing job for less.

Enhanced plans are quote-only. They add custom envelope limits, single sign-on, organization management, 24/7 live technical support and document generation inside Salesforce. Any team over 50 users ends up here.

What an envelope really costs

An envelope is DocuSign's billing unit: one send for signature, however many documents and signers it holds. It counts against your allowance as soon as it is sent, whether or not anyone signs, per DocuSign's FAQ.

Our cost table: the price of each envelope when a sender uses the full allowance, from DocuSign's published plan prices and caps, 19 October 2026.

Plan and billing Price per user Envelopes included Cost per envelope at full use
Personal, annual $120 a year 60 a year (5 a month) $2.00
Standard, annual $300 a year 100 a year $3.00
Business Pro, annual $480 a year 100 a year $4.80
Standard, monthly $45 a month 10 a month $4.50
Business Pro, monthly $65 a month 10 a month $6.50

The cheapest envelope is on Personal, if one person sends. The catch on team plans is the annual allowance: 100 envelopes per user is about 8 a month, and a rep who sends 15 contracts a month runs out by the seventh month. Monthly Standard allows 10 a month, which works out to 120 over a year, but at the monthly seat price each envelope costs more.

Unused envelopes are the hidden cost in the other direction. A user who sends 30 agreements a year on annual Standard pays $10 per envelope sent, so a light sender is overpaying for the seat.

What happens when you run out

DocuSign keeps sending and bills each extra envelope. Its FAQ says an envelope beyond the allowance is charged pay-as-you-go at a set per-envelope rate, so work never stops; the pricing page does not print that rate. You can instead pre-purchase envelopes from the Plans and Billing page of your account, which DocuSign says costs less as volume grows.

Personal has no overage path in the FAQ: past 5 envelopes a month, DocuSign points you to Standard or Business Pro. For a sole trader who has a busy month, that means a plan change, not a small top-up.

Plan around the cap before you buy. Count last year's signed agreements per sender, add the drafts you voided and resent (they count too), and compare the total with 100 per user. If most senders exceed it, ask sales for an Enhanced plan with a custom limit before you sign an annual Standard contract.

A five-person team, priced

Our scenario: a five-person sales team sending 400 agreements a year, on the plan prices and caps above.

Option Cost for the year Envelopes included Fits 400 envelopes?
Standard, annual $1,500 500 Yes, with 100 to spare
Business Pro, annual $2,400 500 Yes, with 100 to spare
Standard, monthly for 12 months $2,700 600 (10 per user a month) Yes

Annual Standard is the clear pick for this team: $1,200 cheaper than paying Standard month to month, with room for growth. Business Pro is worth its $900 premium only if the team collects payments, uses web forms or bulk sends renewals.

Monthly billing makes sense for a short project or a seasonal team, since you can cancel at any time and avoid the next month's charge. For a permanent team, it is the most expensive way to buy the same seats.

Refunds, renewals and the fine print

Every plan renews on its own: monthly plans each month, annual plans each year. DocuSign offers a refund within 30 days of purchase on annual plans bought on its site, but the option can be used only once per customer.

Add-ons sit outside the seat price. SMS delivery and identity verification are billed per delivery or per attempt after Standard's one-time bonus runs out, while multi-channel delivery sits on Enhanced plans and SMS or phone authentication needs a sales conversation even on Business Pro. A team that texts every signing link should price those in before comparing seat costs.

DocuSign vs a cheaper rival on price

DocuSign is rarely the cheapest e-signature tool; it is the one buyers expect. BoldSign's pricing page lists a free Essential plan with 25 envelopes a month, Growth at $5 per user a month billed yearly ($15 monthly) with 50 envelopes per user a month, and Business at $15 per user a month billed yearly ($25 monthly) with unlimited envelopes, read on BoldSign pricing on 19 October 2026.

Against DocuSign Standard's annual seat, BoldSign Business costs less per user a month with no envelope cap. What DocuSign keeps is reach: it is the name counterparties trust, it lists use in 180+ countries and over 1,000 integrations, and its Enhanced tier covers SSO and advanced eIDAS signatures. Is DocuSign worth the price in 2026?

For a team that sends under 100 agreements per person a year and needs counterparties to recognize the tool, yes: annual Standard at $300 per user is fair. It stops being good value when senders blow through the cap, when most seats sit idle, or when you pay monthly for a permanent team.

Teams that sign proposals rather than contracts should also read our PandaDoc review, since proposal tools bundle signing with document building. If your real need is editing and signing PDFs, Adobe Acrobat pricing covers Acrobat's built-in e-signatures, and the best PDF editors list covers cheaper editors. Foxit PDF Editor bundles a yearly allowance of eSign envelopes with its higher seat, and Smallpdf handles occasional e-signatures alongside its PDF tools; the best free PDF editors list covers the no-cost end. How we checked these prices

We read DocuSign's eSignature plans page, its feature comparison chart and FAQ on 19 October 2026, on annual, monthly and annual-billed-monthly billing, and BoldSign's pricing page the same day. The cost tables apply those published prices and caps to fixed scenarios; no promotion code enters them, and the per-envelope figures assume a sender uses the whole allowance. The Toolradar figures come from its live e-signature ranking. We did not run a DocuSign account for this page.

How much does DocuSign cost per month in 2026?

DocuSign Personal costs $10 a month, Standard $25 per user and Business Pro $40 per user when billed annually. On monthly billing the same plans cost $15, $45 and $65. Enhanced plans are priced by quote.

How many envelopes do you get with DocuSign?
