Cheaper DocuSign Alternatives 2026: 7 Tools Priced for 3 Senders
Seven e-signature tools priced for three senders on yearly billing against DocuSign Standard, with the envelope cap, seat rule or free tier that changes each bill.
For three people sending 25 documents a month, BoldSign Growth is the cheapest DocuSign alternative we could price on a vendor page: $5 per user a month billed yearly, or $180 a year. SignWell Business and Xodo Sign Basic both come to $360 a year with unlimited documents. DocuSign Standard costs $900 a year for the same three seats, billed upfront and caps each user at 100 envelopes a year, so the team sits exactly at its limit.

DocuSign is the e-signature tool most buyers price first. Most of them do not need it. Its Standard plan is priced per user on an annual commitment and allows 100 envelopes per user per year, which works out to about eight a month. Every tool below was priced on 17 October 2026 for one scenario. Three senders, 25 documents a month between them, billed yearly at list price. Dupple.com's DocuSign alternatives guide covers the feature angle; this page is about the bill.
Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, evaluated 57 e-signature tools for its ranking at toolradar.com/best/e-signature, updated 14 October 2026. DocuSign is listed as an alternative to 48 of them, the second most cross-shopped tool in the category, which is a measure of how many buyers go looking for something cheaper.

Jotform Sign (Bronze)
Not a fit for three senders, because every self-serve plan is single-user, but the cheapest route to 100 signed documents a month for one person.

- The free plan is one user, so a three-person team needs a paid plan from day one
What it is
Cheaper here means a lower annual bill for a stated team and volume, not a lower sticker price. DocuSign's Personal plan looks cheap at $10 a month billed yearly. It is one user and 5 envelopes a month, so a team never qualifies. The real DocuSign entry for three senders is Standard, and that is the number every alternative is measured against: $900 a year billed upfront, with 300 envelopes of total allowance across the three users.
The scenario fits a small agency, a property manager or a clinic: three people who each send contracts, about 300 signed documents a year. A tool only counts as a fit if its plan covers three senders and that volume. Jotform's paid plans are single-user, so Jotform appears for the one-person case and is marked as such. Anyone sending fewer than ten documents a month should read our free e-signature software guide first, because two free plans cover that volume at $0.
Why it matters
The envelope cap matters more than the seat price. DocuSign Standard and Business Pro both stop at 100 envelopes per user per year. A three-person team that sends 30 documents a month runs out in month ten. SignWell, Xodo Sign, DocuSeal Pro and Signeasy Business sell unlimited documents on their standard business plans, and BoldSign Growth allows 50 envelopes per user a month, which is six times DocuSign's monthly average.
Billing terms move the bill too. DocuSign advertises annual billing as saving up to 44 percent against monthly, SignWell saves 20 percent, and Xodo Sign's monthly prices are double its yearly ones. The yearly column is the one to budget from on every tool here. Add-ons hide on the DocuSign side. SMS delivery starts at $0.40 per send and identity verification is billed per attempt, so a team that texts signers pays more than the seat price.
Key features to look for
Pricing
Methodology. We priced three senders and 25 documents a month on yearly billing for every vendor that publishes a price on its own pricing page. Per-seat totals are the yearly seat price times three and times twelve. SignWell Business includes three senders, so its total is the plan price times twelve. Jotform's self-serve plans are single-user and are shown for the one-sender case. Tools whose pricing pages did not show a US dollar figure are listed with their verified free tier and a note to check the vendor's site. Techpresso runs no test lab, so nothing here is a hands-on result.
Checked on vendor pages on 17 October 2026: DocuSign, BoldSign, SignWell, Xodo Sign, DocuSeal, Signeasy, Jotform and Zoho Sign. Toolradar's DocuSign, SignWell, BoldSign and DocuSeal pages carry their own dated pricing checks.
Where DocuSign's bill really starts (read 19 October 2026, "Annual | Billed upfront"): Personal is $10 a month, $120 billed annually, for one user and 5 envelopes a month. Standard is $25 per user a month, $300 billed annually per user, and Business Pro is $40 per user a month, $480 billed annually per user. Some visitors are shown an "Annual | Billed monthly" lineup at $11, $30 and $45 a month instead. Both team plans cap sending at 100 envelopes per user per year; Enhanced plans with custom limits are quote-only. For a PDF-first alternative that bundles signing with editing, see our Adobe Acrobat review and Acrobat pricing page, or Smallpdf for light use.
| Plan | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| DocuSign Personal | $10/mo, $120 billed annually | 1 user, 5 envelopes a month; no team option |
| DocuSign Standard | $25/user/mo, $300 billed annually | 100 envelopes per user per year; up to 50 users; SMS from $0.40 per send |
| DocuSign Business Pro | $40/user/mo, $480 billed annually | Same 100-envelope cap; payments, advanced fields, identity checks |
| BoldSign Growth | $5/user/mo billed yearly | 50 envelopes per user a month, 10 templates; Essential free for 25 envelopes a month |
| SignWell Business | $30/mo billed yearly | 3 senders included, unlimited documents and templates; extra senders $12 a month |
| Xodo Sign Basic | $10/seat/mo billed yearly | Unlimited documents, 3 templates; Professional at $16 adds unlimited templates |
| DocuSeal Pro | $20/user/mo ($200/user/yr annual) | Unlimited signature requests, payments, API; open-source edition free to self-host |
| Signeasy Business | $20/user/mo | Unlimited documents; Personal is $10 a month for 5 contracts |
| Jotform Bronze | $34/mo billed yearly | 100 signed documents a month, single user, 25 forms |
| Zoho Sign Standard | Check the current price on Zoho's site | 25 envelopes per user a month; free plan for 1 user and 5 envelopes |
The bottom line
For three senders and 25 documents a month, start with BoldSign Growth at $180 a year if 50 envelopes per user a month covers the volume, which it does with room to spare. Move to SignWell Business or Xodo Sign Basic when you want unlimited documents, since both come to the same yearly total for the three seats. Pick DocuSeal if a developer on the team wants an API or a self-hosted server, and Signeasy if you want unlimited sending from a vendor with a 14-day trial and nothing else to configure. Stay on DocuSign only when a counterparty or a procurement rule names it. The other reason is the Enhanced plans, where custom limits and integrations are the point.
