Todoist vs TickTick 2026: Pricing, Features, Verdict

Todoist vs TickTick in 2026: TickTick Premium is $49.99 a year, Todoist Pro $60 a year or $7 monthly. Free plan limits, features, team plans and who wins.

Todoist vs TickTick 2026: Pricing, Features, Verdict

TickTick is the better buy for one person who wants tasks, a calendar, habits and a focus timer in one app: Premium costs $49.99 a year against $60 for Todoist Pro. Todoist wins for anyone who shares work with a team, thanks to its Business plan at $8 per user a month billed yearly, its 90+ integrations and its AI capture tools.

That split follows from what each app is built around. TickTick packs a Pomodoro timer, a habit tracker, an Eisenhower Matrix and full calendar views into a personal planner. Todoist keeps the task list at the center and builds outward into shared team workspaces, which TickTick's pricing page does not sell.

Prices are as of October 2026, read on Todoist's pricing page and TickTick's Premium page on 19 October 2026. Toolradar data: on Todoist's Toolradar profile, its entry paid plan ranks 15th (joint) of 73 task management tools with a verified entry price, where the median is $9 a month, so both apps sit at the cheap end of their market. TickTick's profile shows it listed as an alternative to 48 other tools, the most of any habit tracking app on Toolradar, the software directory we run.

What each costs per year

Both vendors offer yearly and monthly billing, so the table compares like with like. Totals are our arithmetic on the printed prices.

Billing Todoist Pro TickTick Premium TickTick saves per year
Yearly Pro's yearly price Premium's yearly price $10.01
Monthly, over 12 months $84 ($7 x 12) $59.88 ($4.99 x 12) $24.12

On yearly billing the gap is about $10 a year, small enough that features should decide. Monthly billing widens it, because the monthly gap between the two plans adds up to $24.12 over a year. Both apps reward the yearly commitment: Todoist advertises 20% off for yearly billing, and TickTick prints its annual plan as less than $4.17 a month.

For a team, only Todoist has a published price. Business costs $8 per user a month billed yearly, or $10 billed monthly, so a 5-person team pays $480 a year on yearly billing. TickTick Premium lets you share lists with up to 29 members, but its pricing page shows one personal Premium plan and no team billing.

Free plans: TickTick gives more room

TickTick's free plan holds 9 lists with up to 99 tasks each, list and Kanban views, natural language input, reminders and cross-platform sync. Its limits show up in the details: 2 reminders per task, 1 attachment a day, 2 members per shared list and 5 habits.

Todoist's free Beginner plan stops at 5 personal projects and 3 filter views, with a week of activity history and 5 MB file uploads. It keeps Smart Quick Add, board and list layouts, reminders and a limited number of Ramble voice sessions. A student or a single-project freelancer can live on either free plan, but TickTick's nine lists last longer before the upgrade prompt.

Where TickTick is the better buy

You plan your day on a calendar

TickTick's calendar is a first-class view: yearly, monthly, weekly, daily and agenda layouts, with Premium unlocking the full set. Premium also adds task duration, so time blocks sit next to events. Todoist Pro includes a calendar layout and task duration too, but its calendar is a view of the task list rather than the place you plan from.

You want habits and focus sessions in the same app

TickTick ships a Pomodoro timer for 25-minute focus intervals and a habit tracker with a habit library and statistics, plus an Eisenhower Matrix for sorting tasks by urgency and importance. Premium raises the habit limit from 5 to 299. Someone paying separately for a habit app and a focus timer can replace both with TickTick Premium, which is where its lower price turns into a real saving. Todoist's pricing page lists none of these three tools.

You want higher limits for less

Premium gives 299 lists, 999 tasks per list, 199 attachments a day and 5 reminders per task at the yearly price in the table above. Todoist Pro's 300 personal projects and 150 filter views are generous too, but they cost more on either billing cycle.

Where Todoist is worth the extra

You share work with a team

Todoist Business adds a shared team workspace with up to 500 team projects, up to 250 people per team project, team roles and permissions, shared templates, team project folders and centralized billing. It supports up to 1,000 team members and 1,000 guests. Todoist also states it is SOC2 Type II compliant, which matters to a company security review. TickTick has nothing comparable on its pricing page, so a team trying to run on it buys individual Premium plans and shares lists.

You capture tasks fast, by typing or talking

Smart Quick Add turns a typed sentence into a task with a date, and Ramble captures tasks by voice, with unlimited sessions on Pro. Pro also includes Task Assist, and the plan comparison lists Filter Assist and Email Assist among Todoist's AI tools. For someone who lives in email and chat, those capture tools save more time than any calendar view.

Your task list connects to other tools

Todoist lists 90+ integrations and keeps full reporting history and productivity visualizations on Pro. TickTick integrates calendars and apps such as Notion, but Todoist's catalog is the wider one for a work stack. Our Todoist review covers how Pro and Business behave in daily use.

Who should pick which

Pick TickTick if you work alone, plan around a calendar, want habits and a focus timer without a second app, or want the lowest price on either billing cycle. Premium is the better value for students, freelancers and anyone whose task list is personal.

Pick Todoist if you share projects with a team, want voice and AI task capture, or need integrations with the tools you already use at work. A team of five pays $480 a year on Business, a published price TickTick does not match.

Still deciding? The best daily planner apps ranking compares both with other planners, and the best AI scheduling apps cover tools like Motion that schedule tasks for you, reviewed in our Motion review. If your tasks live inside a wider workspace, Notion pricing and ClickUp pricing price the all-in-one option, and AI for productivity covers what AI adds to a to-do list. Teams weighing a full project tool rather than a to-do app can start with our project management software pricing comparison, and anyone automating the rest of the day will find recipes in how to automate your workday with AI and ChatGPT for productivity.

How we compared

We read Todoist's pricing page, plan comparison and billing options, and TickTick's Premium page, plan comparison and FAQ, on 19 October 2026, plus TickTick's homepage for its calendar, Pomodoro and habit features. Yearly totals are our arithmetic on those printed prices. Techpresso runs no test lab and holds no paid account with either vendor, so nothing here is a hands-on timing or a negotiated price.
