HubSpot CRM Review 2026: Pricing, Pros, Cons and Alternatives
What the free CRM, Starter, Professional, and Enterprise actually cost a 5-person team, including onboarding fees, seats, and credits.
HubSpot CRM is worth it on the free plan and on Starter, and an expensive commitment from Professional up. Free covers up to 2 users, and Sales Hub Starter is $7 a seat per month billed annually under a limited-time offer for new customers. Professional is $90 a seat billed annually plus a required $1,500 onboarding fee, so five sellers pay $6,900 in year one.
The free CRM and the shared record are the reasons to pick it. The catch is the jump to Professional, where Pipedrive and Zoho CRM sell sequences and automation for a fraction of that first-year bill.

- Starter bundles 500 calling minutes, up to 50 workflows, an AI notetaker, and 500 monthly credits

Cons
- Professional requires a one-time onboarding fee on top of seats, which doubles a small team's first year
- Free stops at 2 users, so a third teammate forces a paid seat or a workaround

HubSpot's pricing pages sell a free CRM, but most teams that stay end up on a paid hub, and the gap between the tiers is the real decision. Starter costs less than a lunch per seat, while Professional adds a mandatory onboarding fee that can exceed a year of seats for a small team.
This review prices that ladder for a 5-person sales team, then sets it next to four CRMs that sell sequences, automation, and pipelines for less. The goal is to tell you which tier you will actually end up on, and what it costs before you sign.
Toolradar data: of the 505 CRM tools Toolradar tracks (snapshot of October 16, 2026), HubSpot is listed as an alternative to 148 of them, the most of any CRM, and it drew 118 compare-page views in the last 30 days, first among the 24 CRMs with enough traffic to rank. Only 27% of those 505 tools offer a free plan (Toolradar's CRM statistics, HubSpot on Toolradar).
Methodology: HubSpot prices come from its Sales Hub pricing page, Smart CRM pricing page, and price calculator, checked October 18, 2026, in US dollars. Rival prices come from each vendor's own pricing page, checked the same day. Team totals multiply the printed per-seat price by seats and 12 months, before taxes; entry tiers are not feature-matched.
What is HubSpot CRM?
HubSpot is a customer platform built around one shared CRM record, with paid hubs for sales, marketing, service, content, data, and revenue on top. The CRM itself is the free layer: the shared record plus free tools such as ticketing, data sync, live chat, 1-to-1 email, and 10 reporting dashboards, all carrying HubSpot branding.
Sales Hub is the product a sales team buys. Starter adds 500 calling minutes, a HubSpot phone number, up to 50 workflows, task queues, a notetaker, and the prospecting agent, while Professional adds sequences, forecasting, and conversation intelligence. Smart CRM is a separate seat for people who need the CRM's admin tools, such as custom reports and duplicate management, without the sales features.
Paid plans also include HubSpot Credits, which pay for AI agents and features that take actions: 500 a month on Starter, 3,000 on Professional, and 5,000 on Enterprise. Credits are consumed as features do work, so a team that leans on agents should watch the spend controls.
How HubSpot CRM works
Signing up for Free takes no credit card, and the account starts with HubSpot's free tools for marketing, sales, service, content, and data. The free limits are tight but usable: 3 email templates, 3 canned snippets, one branded meetings link, and 2,000 marketing email sends a month.
Upgrades happen per hub and per seat. You buy Sales Hub seats for reps, and the bundle calculator adds Core Seats for colleagues who need CRM access without selling tools. A Professional purchase adds the onboarding fee at checkout, and the calculator shows the total before you pay.
Starter is self-serve with a Buy now button, and Professional can be bought online or through sales. Enterprise is a Talk to Sales plan with its own onboarding fee, so expect a contract conversation rather than a card payment.
HubSpot CRM key features
HubSpot CRM pricing
HubSpot sells per seat, and the tier, not the seat count, moves the bill most. Free covers up to 2 users, which suits a founder and one seller and nobody else.
Sales Hub Starter is $7 a seat per month billed annually, a limited-time price for new customers that HubSpot frames as up to 65% off. The card also shows $20 a seat, the monthly rate the price calculator lists for Starter, and HubSpot does not print what the promo renews at. Five Starter seats cost $420 a year at the promo rate, or $1,200 at the monthly rate.
Professional's annual rate in the table rises to $100 a seat when you pay monthly on an annual commitment, and every Professional purchase carries a required one-time onboarding fee of $1,500. HubSpot's own calculator prints $2,580 to get started with one Professional seat. For five sellers, year one is $5,400 in seats plus onboarding, $6,900 in total, or $7,500 on the monthly path.
Enterprise starts at $150 a seat per month with a required $3,500 onboarding fee, so five seats come to $12,500 in the first year. Smart CRM seats for non-sellers are $45 billed annually on Professional ($50 monthly) and $75 on Enterprise.
For comparison, five Pipedrive Growth seats are $2,340 a year and five Zoho CRM Professional seats are $1,380, both without an onboarding fee. Freshsales and monday CRM also have Toolradar profiles. Prices were checked on October 18, 2026, on HubSpot Sales Hub pricing, HubSpot Smart CRM pricing, Pipedrive pricing, Zoho CRM pricing, Freshsales pricing, and monday CRM pricing.

Who HubSpot CRM is for
HubSpot fits a team of one or two that wants a real CRM for free, and a small sales team that will live on Starter's calling, task queues, and notetaker. It also suits companies that already run HubSpot marketing, because the shared record is the main argument for staying in one platform.
Who should skip it: a five-to-twenty-person team that needs sequences and forecasting but cannot justify a four-figure onboarding fee on top of the seats. That team gets the same core jobs from Pipedrive or Zoho CRM for less. Teams that only need a lightweight contact list should read our free CRM guide or the folk review first.

The bottom line
Start on HubSpot Free if you are one or two people, and move to Starter while the new-customer promo applies if you need calling and task queues. Both are cheap enough that the decision barely matters.
Price Professional before you plan around it. For five sellers the first year is $6,900 with onboarding, against $2,340 for Pipedrive Growth or $1,380 for Zoho CRM Professional. Pay that premium when your marketing team already runs on HubSpot and the shared record saves real work, and skip it when you only need sequences and a pipeline.
