The Best Calendly Alternatives in 2026

One of these is free forever. One is a one-time purchase, not a seat. Calendly's own free plan caps you at one event type before any of that matters.

Independently researched. No pay-for-placement. 9 tools compared
TL;DR

Cal.com is the free-forever pick: unlimited event types for one user, the exact cap Calendly's free plan enforces at one. SavvyCal is $10 a user if the invitee's own calendar overlay matters more than price. TidyCal is $29 once instead of a seat that renews every month. Zoho Bookings undercuts Calendly at $6 a seat, and Microsoft Bookings is free if you already pay for Microsoft 365.

Calendly is the scheduling link everyone recognizes. That recognition is the entire reason its one-event-type free plan and per-seat paywall get forgiven. Add a second event type, a second calendar, or a team of five who all take bookings, and the math stops being about brand recall.

It becomes about the invoice. The nine tools below either beat that invoice, buy the license once, or arrive free inside software you already pay for.

None of them nail the invitee experience the way Calendly does out of the box.

What they do instead is cheaper per seat, a one-time purchase, an open-source install, or a scheduling feature bundled into a suite you are not adding to your stack.

What it is

A Calendly alternative is scheduling software that replaces the calendly.com booking link. It reads your calendar, defines meeting types, and lets someone else pick a free slot without an email thread.

The category splits into per-seat cloud tools, buy-once licenses, an open-source install, and features already bundled into Microsoft 365, Google Workspace or a CRM you may already own.

Techpresso data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, has evaluated 102 meeting scheduling tools as of September 2026. The nine below are the ones a Calendly user actually compares before switching.

Why it matters

The event-type cap is the trap. Calendly Free allows one event type and one calendar, which covers exactly one meeting kind. Add a 15-minute follow-up to your 30-minute intro and you are on a paid seat before the week is out.

Cal.com, TidyCal and Zoho Bookings do not enforce that cap on their free tiers.

The second trap is per-seat math on a team. Five people on Calendly Teams at $16 a seat is $960 a year. The same five on Cal.com Teams is $720 a year.

On TidyCal Agency Lifetime, it is a flat one-time fee, full stop. If your team already pays for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, the scheduling feature is often already inside the seat you are paying for. Adding Calendly on top doubles a line item you do not need.

Key features to look for

What the free plan actually allows
Event-type caps, calendar connections, and whether reminders or payments are gated. This decides whether you ever need a paid seat.
License shape
Per-seat subscription, buy-once lifetime, open-source self-host, or bundled inside a suite you already pay for. Four different bills for the same booking page.
Team routing and round robin
Whether inbound bookings spread across a team by availability or load, and which tier gates it. This is the feature that moves you off the individual plan.
Where the calendar data lives
How many calendars sync, in which direction, and whether the tool is already inside Microsoft, Google or Zoho. A second personal calendar is where a free plan stops being free.
Invitee experience
Whether the person booking already knows the link, and whether they can overlay their own calendar. Calendly wins on recognition. SavvyCal wins on the overlay.

Pricing

Methodology: every price below was checked on the vendor's own pricing page in September 2026, in USD. No third-party estimates and no paid placements sit in this ranking.

Cal.com, SavvyCal, Acuity Scheduling, Zoho Bookings, TidyCal and YouCanBook.me publish list prices directly.

Microsoft Bookings has no standalone price: it rides inside Microsoft 365 Business plans.

Google Calendar appointment schedules are free on any Google account, with the full feature set gated behind Google Workspace Business Standard. HubSpot's scheduler follows the same shape inside Sales Hub.

The cheapest way to leave Calendly for nothing is Cal.com or Zoho Bookings free, or TidyCal free with a 1 percent fee on paid bookings. The cheapest way to leave it for good, paying once, is TidyCal Individual Lifetime. Costs jump fastest at Acuity Premium and at Microsoft 365 Business Premium, both of which bundle far more than scheduling.

Mistakes to avoid
×Switching to a per-seat tool like SavvyCal or Cal.com Teams for a solo operator who only sends one type of meeting. Cal.com Free or Zoho Bookings Free already cover that job at no cost.
×Paying for Calendly's Teams plan for round robin when the company already runs Microsoft 365 Business Standard or above and Bookings does the same job for no extra spend.
×Buying TidyCal Individual Lifetime for a five-person sales team. It is a one-user license; Agency Lifetime is the tier built for round robin across a team.
Expert tips
→Count the event types you actually send before comparing prices. One type stays free everywhere. A second type costs money on Calendly and stays free on Cal.com or Zoho Bookings.
→Open Microsoft Bookings or Google Calendar's appointment schedules before adding a new vendor if you already pay for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. The incremental cost is often nothing.
→Keep your existing Calendly link live until the new booking page has replaced it everywhere you shared it. Rebuilding event types on a new tool usually takes under an hour.

The bottom line

Leave Calendly for Cal.com if the free plan's one-event-type cap is the actual problem. It is free forever for one user with no limit on event types, and a modest per-seat plan once you need a team. Leave it for TidyCal if you would rather buy a license once than watch a seat renew.

Individual Lifetime pricing covers that, or free with a small fee on paid bookings. Leave it for SavvyCal only if the invitee's calendar overlay is worth paying for from day one.

It has no free plan.

Check Microsoft Bookings or Google Calendar's appointment schedules before buying anything if your company already holds a Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace seat. The scheduling feature is often already paid for.

Zoho Bookings is the cheapest per-seat plan here if you want a paid tool without Calendly's price. Read the full Calendly review if you have not ruled out staying.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best free alternative to Calendly?
Cal.com Free, if you want unlimited event types for one user at no cost, which is the exact cap Calendly's free plan enforces at one. Zoho Bookings Free and TidyCal Free are close behind, both with unlimited booking types. Microsoft Bookings and Google Calendar's appointment schedules are effectively free too, if you already hold a Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace seat.
How much does Cal.com cost?
Checked on cal.com/pricing, September 2026: Free forever for one user with unlimited event types, calendars and meetings. Teams is priced per user per month billed annually, adding round robin and custom branding. Organizations is $28 per user per month billed annually, adding SSO and SCIM. Enterprise is a custom quote.
Is TidyCal really a one-time purchase?
Yes, for two of its four tiers. Individual Lifetime is $29 once, and Agency Lifetime is $79 once, both sold through AppSumo, checked on tidycal.com/pricing in September 2026. TidyCal also runs a free plan with unlimited bookings, and a subscription Pro tier for teams that want no branding and no platform fee.
Does Microsoft 365 include a scheduling tool?
Yes. Microsoft Bookings is included in Microsoft 365 Business Basic, Standard and Premium, and in many Enterprise and education plans, with no separate price of its own. Business Basic is $7 per user per month, checked on Microsoft's plans and pricing page in September 2026. If that license is already on the invoice, Bookings costs nothing extra.
SavvyCal vs Calendly: what is actually different?
The invitee experience. SavvyCal lets the person booking overlay their own calendar on yours to find a time that suits them, something none of Calendly's tiers do. SavvyCal has no free plan and starts at $10 a user, while Calendly is free for one event type before its first paid seat. Calendly still wins on invitee brand recognition.
Is Zoho Bookings cheaper than Calendly?
Yes, on the paid tiers. Zoho Bookings Basic is $6 per user per month billed annually, and Premium is $9, both checked on zoho.com/bookings/pricing.html in September 2026, under Calendly Standard's per-seat price. Zoho's free plan covers one user with bidirectional calendar sync, a feature Calendly does not offer on its own free tier.
