What Acuity costs per calendar, what a six-person team pays against four rivals, and when it is the wrong buy.

TL;DR

Acuity is the right booking tool for a service business with several staff or locations, and the wrong one for a solo host who wants a free plan. It charges by calendar, not by seat: $16 a month billed yearly for one calendar, $27 for up to six and $49 for up to 36. A six-person team pays $324 a year on Standard, where Calendly Teams would cost $1,152. There is no free plan, only a 7-day trial, so Calendly's free tier beats Acuity on price for one person.

Pros

  • Priced by calendar: a six-person team pays one Standard plan price, not a price per person.
  • Standard at $27 a month bundles packages, memberships, gift certificates, a waitlist and text reminders on one plan.
  • Payments through Stripe, Square, PayPal or Venmo from the entry plan, with no set-up or cancellation fees.

Cons

  • No free plan: the 7-day trial is the only try-before-you-pay option, while Calendly and Cal.com both offer free tiers.

Acuity Scheduling is the booking tool service businesses buy when a calendar has to serve several people and money changes hands at booking. It does a different job from a personal meeting link, which is the job Calendly is built for.

Toolradar data: As of October 2026, Toolradar lists Acuity as an alternative to 50 other meeting scheduling tools, second only to Calendly at 57. This review covers what each plan allows, what a team really pays, and when a cheaper tool does the same job.

What is Acuity Scheduling?

Acuity Scheduling is an appointment booking product that Squarespace sells as Acuity Scheduling by Squarespace, on its own plans separate from Squarespace website plans. You set up appointment types, such as a 60-minute consult, a class or a fitting, define availability for each, and share a booking page.

Clients choose an open slot, pay through the provider you connect at booking, and get reminders. Toolradar keeps a full profile at Acuity Scheduling, and our Squarespace review covers the website builder that sells it.

How Acuity Scheduling works

Every staff member or location gets a calendar, and the plan sets how many calendars one account can run: 1, 6 or 36. Clients see times converted to their own time zone automatically. Payments run through Stripe, Square, PayPal or Venmo, so the provider's card processing fees sit on top of the plan price.

Acuity's pricing page lists no set-up, cancellation or support fees. For the follow-up after a booking, our CRM software guide covers the tools for that step.

For more complex questionnaires, our form builders guide covers tools built for the job.

Acuity Scheduling key features

Calendars as the unit of price
Starter gives one calendar, Standard up to six and Premium up to 36. The pricing page limits plans by calendar, not by user, which is why a team of six fits one Standard plan.
Payments, packages and memberships
Starter takes payments through Stripe, Square, PayPal and Venmo. Standard adds packages, memberships and gift certificates, the recurring revenue a studio or coach usually wants.
Reminders and waitlist
Email reminders run on Starter. Text reminders, which the page says depend on global availability, and a waitlist come from Standard.
Custom intake forms
Starter includes custom client forms, so basic intake does not need a second tool.
Premium controls
An AI Booking Assistant, a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement, multiple time zones per staff member or location, and custom API and CSS access.

Acuity Scheduling pricing

Acuity lists three paid plans in USD, excluding taxes. Annual billing is labelled as saving 20%, and the table below gives each plan a yearly and a monthly price. The FAQ says Acuity "doesn't offer free appointment scheduling at this time", and the 7-day trial needs no card.

Our Calendly alternatives guide lines these prices up against other booking tools, and the appointment scheduling guide ranks the field.

The arithmetic matters more than the list.

One calendar costs $192 a year on Starter, and a second calendar means Standard at $324 a year. Six calendars on Standard cost $324 a year, against $720 for six seats of Calendly Standard and $1,152 for six seats of Calendly Teams.

The crossover is three people: three Calendly Standard seats cost $30 a month, more than one Acuity Standard plan.

Monthly billing adds $48 a year on Starter, $84 on Standard and $144 on Premium.

Methodology: Acuity prices come from its own pricing page, checked in October 2026, and competitor prices from each vendor's own pricing page the same month.

Scenarios are our arithmetic on those list prices, annual billing unless stated, excluding taxes and card processing. The Cal.com link is a referral link, so a signup may earn Techpresso a commission.

Acuity Scheduling pros and cons

What we like

  • Priced by calendar: a six-person team pays one Standard plan price, not a price per person.
  • Standard at $27 a month bundles packages, memberships, gift certificates, a waitlist and text reminders on one plan.
  • Payments through Stripe, Square, PayPal or Venmo from the entry plan, with no set-up or cancellation fees.
  • Premium adds a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement and an AI Booking Assistant, which matter for clinics and coaches who handle sensitive client data.

What could be better

  • No free plan: the 7-day trial is the only try-before-you-pay option, while Calendly and Cal.com both offer free tiers.
  • A second calendar forces the move up to Standard, a 69 percent price step on the same booking page.
  • No round-robin on the pricing page, so sales teams routing leads should compare Calendly Teams first.
  • Card processing fees come from the payment provider you connect and are not in the plan price.

Who Acuity Scheduling is for

Acuity fits a service business with several people or locations and money changing hands at booking. A clinic, a coaching practice or a dance school with three instructors gets the most from Standard: payments, packages and text reminders for one flat monthly price.

It is the wrong buy for a solo consultant who needs one meeting link, because Calendly's free plan or Cal.com's free individual plan covers that at $0.

If your team needs round-robin routing for sales leads, Acuity's pricing page lists none, so compare Calendly Teams and Cal.com Teams first. For AI-driven planning rather than booking links, see the AI scheduling guide.

The bottom line

Acuity Scheduling is worth the money for a service business that books several people and takes payments at booking, and not for a solo host. Standard is the plan most teams should buy, because it covers six calendars and bundles packages, memberships and text reminders.

Starter costs more for one calendar than Calendly Standard, which connects six calendars per seat, so a single host should look at Calendly first. If your team needs round-robin lead routing, compare Calendly Teams and Cal.com Teams before paying for Acuity.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Acuity Scheduling cost?
Starter is $16 a month billed yearly ($20 monthly) for one calendar, Standard is $27 ($34 monthly) for up to six calendars, and Premium is $49 ($61 monthly) for up to 36. Acuity lists no set-up, cancellation or support fees, and prices exclude taxes.
Is there a free Acuity Scheduling plan?
No. Acuity's FAQ says it "doesn't offer free appointment scheduling at this time". A 7-day trial needs no credit card, and the cheapest paid plan is the Starter tier. Toolradar data, October 2026: 53 of the 101 meeting scheduling tools it ranks have a free plan, and Acuity is one of three paid-only tools in its top 10.
What is the best free alternative to Acuity Scheduling?
Cal.com's individual plan is free for one user with unlimited event types and calendars, and Setmore's free plan covers up to four users with unlimited appointments and payments. Neither free plan sells packages or memberships, which Acuity Standard does on its middle plan.
Is Acuity Scheduling worth it for a team?
Usually, if the team has three or more people with their own calendars. Three calendars fit one Acuity Standard plan, while three Calendly Standard seats cost $30 a month. Six calendars cost $324 a year on Standard, against $1,152 for six Calendly Teams seats, although Calendly Teams includes round-robin routing that Acuity does not list.
How does Acuity pricing compare with Calendly?
Calendly is cheaper for one person, since its Standard seat costs less than Acuity's one-calendar Starter plan. From the third person with their own calendar, Acuity Standard costs less than Calendly Standard, so the switch point is three people.
