Attio Review 2026
What Attio's Free, Plus and Pro plans include, where the seat, record and credit limits bite, what a five-person team pays, and how folk, HubSpot, Close and Zoho CRM compare.
Attio is worth it for startups and small B2B teams that want a CRM they can reshape like a database, as long as the per-seat bill fits. Three seats are free. Plus costs $35 per seat a month billed annually ($44 monthly), and Pro, the tier with sequences and call recording, costs $79 per seat a month ($99 monthly), as checked on Attio's pricing page on 17 October 2026.
The free plan is real, the data model is the most flexible in its price class, and the 14-day Pro trial needs no card. The catch is that the useful sales features sit on Pro, so a five-person team pays $4,740 a year on an annual plan. If you only want a clean pipeline, folk or Zoho CRM gets you there for less.

- AI and workflows burn credits; heavy users add $85 a month or more for extra workspace credits.

Attio arrived as the CRM for people who were building their customer database in Notion or Airtable because Salesforce felt like a tax office. That pitch still holds: every record, list and attribute is editable, and the product syncs your inbox and calendar into a live contact graph. The question in 2026 is not whether Attio is good, but whether its Pro seat earns its price against cheaper pipelines and broader suites.
This review reads Attio's plans the way a founder or RevOps lead would: what the free tier allows, where the limits bite, what the credit system means for AI usage, and what a real team pays per year. It then puts Attio next to folk, HubSpot Sales Hub, Close and Zoho CRM, four alternatives that win on either price or breadth. Prices were read on each vendor's pricing page in October 2026. Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 504 CRM tools as of October 2026, and 27% of them are free, freemium or open source, so Attio's free tier is common in the category rather than a differentiator on its own.
What is Attio?
Attio is a cloud CRM built around a flexible data model: Companies and People come as standard objects, and paid plans add deals, workspaces, users and custom objects that you define yourself. Records live in lists that behave like filtered database views, with formula attributes, templates and relationship attributes that link any record to any other. It is closer to a relational database with a sales interface than to a classic pipeline tool.
On top of the data layer sit the features a sales team expects: email and calendar sync, automatic enrichment of contacts and companies, workflows with integration blocks, reports, an API, webhooks, an app SDK and an MCP server for AI agents. AI shows up as Ask Attio, a per-seat assistant, plus AI agents and Call Intelligence on the upper tiers. Every AI and workflow action draws on credits, which is where the real usage cost hides. On Toolradar, Attio is listed as an alternative to 9 other tools, #19 of the 117 sales intelligence tools there (October 2026), a sign that buyers shortlist it against established names rather than only other startups' tools.
How Attio works
A new workspace starts on a 14-day trial of Pro, no card required, then drops to Free unless you pay. Connecting Gmail or Microsoft 365 is optional but recommended, because the sync is what fills the database with every person and company you have emailed. From there you build lists (pipelines, investor targets, partner programs) as views over those records, add attributes, and set up workflows that fire on record changes or on a schedule.
Plan choice is driven by three caps: seats, records and objects. Free allows 3 seats, 50,000 records and 3 objects; Plus allows 10 seats, 250,000 records and 5 objects; Pro removes the seat cap and lifts records to 1,000,000 with 12 standard objects plus custom ones. Email sending is the other quiet limit: 200 sends per user a month on Free, 1,000 on Plus, unlimited on Pro. Sequences, call recording with AI transcripts, team-level permissions and the deeper reports all require Pro, so a team that wants Attio as an outbound tool should budget for Pro from day one rather than Plus.
Attio key features
Attio pricing
Attio has four plans. Free covers 3 seats and 50,000 records at no cost. Plus and Pro are priced per seat at the rates in the table below, and Enterprise is a custom quote billed annually. Annual billing saves 20% on both paid tiers. Prices and limits were read on Attio's pricing page and its plans and features guide on 17 October 2026. Monthly billing is the trap: it costs 25% more per seat than annual on both paid tiers, so a team that is sure of Attio should commit for the year.
What a team pays: five people on Plus cost $175 a month billed annually, or $2,100 a year, and the same five on Pro cost $395 a month, or $4,740 a year. Switch to monthly billing and the Pro team pays $495 a month. Add-on workspace credits run from $85 a month for 5,000 credits to $595 for 50,000 on monthly billing ($70 to $475 annually), which only matters for teams running heavy AI enrichment or workflows. VC-backed startups that signed up within the last 90 days and are less than ten years old can apply for 80% off the annual Pro plan and credits in year one and 30% off in year two, for workspaces of up to 10 seats; the startup program page lists the criteria. The comparison that matters is Pro against each rival's automation tier. On annual billing, folk Premium costs $48 a member and HubSpot Sales Hub Professional $90 a seat plus a $1,500 onboarding fee; Close Growth costs more per seat than Attio Pro, and Zoho CRM Professional costs $23 a user. Attio sits in the middle of that range: cheaper than HubSpot and Close, far more than Zoho, with a more flexible data model than any of them. Rival prices were read on the folk, HubSpot Sales Hub, Close and Zoho CRM pricing pages in October 2026.

Who Attio is for
Attio fits venture-backed startups, product-led SaaS companies and small B2B teams of roughly 3 to 30 people who want to model their business (customers, investors, partners, workspaces) instead of forcing everything into a deal pipeline. It is a strong fit if an engineer on the team will use the API or MCP server, or if founders live in Gmail and want the CRM to fill itself. It is stronger still if the startup program's first-year discount applies to you. If the three free seats cover the whole team, there is no cheaper serious CRM.
Skip it if your main job is high-volume outbound calling, where Apollo or Close put the dialer at the center, or if you need marketing automation, ticketing and a CMS in the same bill, where HubSpot wins on breadth. Teams that find per-seat pricing hard to justify above 10 users should look at Zoho CRM, and teams that only want a fast, pretty pipeline with LinkedIn capture will be happier on folk. Attio is a data-first CRM; buy it for the model, not for the dialer. Our guides to the best CRM for small business, the cheapest CRM software and the best CRM for Gmail cover the wider field.

The bottom line
Attio remains one of the best CRMs for a startup that thinks in data, and the free tier for 3 seats is the most generous real plan among the tools compared here. Pay for it when custom objects, the API or two-mailbox sync change how your team works; do not pay for it to get a basic pipeline. At the Pro rate, the tier most sales teams need, it is cheaper than HubSpot Professional and Close Growth but far from the cheapest way to run a pipeline.
Pick folk for a lighter, cheaper relationship CRM, Zoho CRM when the bill per seat decides, HubSpot for an all-in-one suite, and Close if outbound calling is the job. For the wider field, see the best CRM software, best free CRM software and sales intelligence guides, plus our Pipedrive review. Methodology: we read Attio's pricing page and plans guide plus each rival's pricing page in October 2026, compared each vendor's automation tier, and computed a five-seat annual cost.
