Canva Pricing 2026: Free, Pro and Business Per Seat
Canva pricing in 2026: Free at $0, Pro at $144 a year for one person, Business at $250 per person a year, Enterprise on quote. AI limits, AI Pass and team totals.

Canva Pro costs $144 a year for one person, and Canva Business costs $250 a year per person, both on yearly billing, as read on Canva's pricing page on 19 October 2026. Canva Free stays at $0, and Enterprise is sold by quote. Monthly billing is also offered and costs more: Canva says yearly billing saves from 16%.
The plan names hide one rule that decides most bills. Pro is for exactly one person, so the moment two people need to share brand kits, templates or approvals, you are buying Business seats, not a second Pro account. For a solo creator Canva is cheap; for a five-person marketing team it is a $1,250 yearly line item before any AI add-on.
Toolradar data: Toolradar, the software directory we run, tracks 253 graphic design tools as of 19 October 2026, and 73% of them are free, freemium or open source. The median entry paid plan is $10 a month across the 43 that publish a price, and Canva's Toolradar profile shows it listed as an alternative to more tools than any other product in the category. Pro's yearly price works out to $12 a month, our arithmetic, a little above that median.
Canva plans at a glance
| Plan | Price (yearly billing) | Who can use it | Cloud storage | Premium AI uses a month | Brand Kits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Anyone | 5GB | Up to 20 | 1 (3 colors only) |
| Pro | $144 a year | One person | 100GB | Up to 200 | 5 |
| Business | $250 a year per person | Individuals and teams | 500GB | Up to 400 | 100, with approvals |
| Enterprise | Custom quote | Organizations | 1TB | Up to 400 | 1,000, with tiered approvals |
Prices exclude sales tax, which Canva adds at checkout based on your billing address in the US. The AI figures are Canva's own estimates for simple tasks on one tool type; Ultra AI tools, such as designing through conversation or creating video, use the allowance faster, at up to 20 uses on Pro and 40 on Business.
What Canva Free includes, and where it stops
Free is a real product, not a trial. It includes the drag-and-drop editor with 1,000+ design types, 1.6M+ templates, 4.7M+ photos, videos, graphics and audio, 5GB of storage, presentations, docs, sheets, whiteboards, websites and video editing, plus Canva Offline.
The limits show up the first time you try to publish professionally. Free cannot customize premium templates, design in bulk, remove backgrounds, export print-ready CMYK files or schedule social posts. Its AI is capped at 20 uses a month across Standard and Premium tools, with no access to Ultra AI. A student, hobbyist or occasional poster maker can stay here indefinitely; anyone making client or brand work will hit the wall within a week.
Canva Pro: one person, premium everything
Pro unlocks the premium library (3.6M+ templates and 141M+ photos, videos, graphics and audio), 5 Brand Kits, social content scheduling, CMYK export, 100GB of storage and AI tools such as background removal, resize and translate. Standard AI tools stop drawing from your allowance at all on Pro, under fair-use limits, so only Premium and Ultra tools count against the monthly cap.
The catch is the seat. Canva states that only one person can use a Pro account, and Pro cannot invite team members, set brand controls or run design approvals. Sharing one login breaks the terms; buying several Pro accounts gives each person the tools but no shared brand kit or approval flow. For a freelancer or a founder doing their own marketing, though, Pro is the plan to buy.
Canva Business: per person, with team controls
Business replaced Canva Teams for new sign-ups, and Teams customers stay on their old plan unless they switch. It is priced per person and includes everything in Pro plus collaboration and team admin tools, 100 Brand Kits with approvals, Flourish for interactive data visualization, a 10% discount on Canva Print orders, 500GB of storage and roughly twice Pro's AI allowance.
Billing follows a pay-as-you-grow model. You pay only for members who accept an invitation, and on monthly billing the next renewal charges whatever your headcount is that day. On yearly billing, Canva adjusts charges quarterly and emails the admin before any upcoming charge, which gives you a window to remove people who left. A Business free trial does not bill for members you invite during the trial.
What does a team pay for Canva?
| Setup (yearly billing) | Plan | Yearly cost | Effective cost per person a month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo creator | Pro | $144 | $12 |
| 3-person studio | Business | $750 | $20.83 |
| 5-person marketing team | Business | $1,250 | $20.83 |
| 10-person team | Business | $2,500 | $20.83 |
| 25-person department | Business | $6,250 | $20.83 |
| 5-person team plus AI Pass for one heavy user | Business plus monthly AI Pass | $2,450 | Not comparable |
Techpresso data: we built this table on 19 October 2026 from Canva's printed yearly prices and its AI Pass help page. Business is seats times the per-person yearly price; AI Pass is $100 a month times 12 for one person. Sales tax, Canva Print orders and AI top-ups are excluded, and Enterprise is left out because it has no list price.
The last row is the one to watch. One AI Pass costs almost as much as the whole five-seat Business plan, so it only pays off for a person whose job is generating images or video in Canva all day. For everyone else, Business is the cheaper route to more AI: it doubles Pro's monthly allowance for $106 more a year per person, our arithmetic.
AI Pass and AI top-ups
AI Pass is a recurring add-on for Pro and Business users who subscribe online. Canva prices it at $100 per person per month globally, and says it gives 40 times Pro's AI allowance, or 20 times Business's, across Standard, Premium and Ultra tools. Annual Canva subscribers can also buy it yearly, charged pro rata for the rest of their billing period, according to the AI Pass help page.
AI top-ups are the lighter option, for Business users only. Each top-up adds one extra month's Business allowance, usable within 30 days, and an unused balance expires instead of rolling over (AI top-ups help). Note one trial detail: during a free trial, your AI allowance matches Canva Free, and the full paid allowance starts only when billing does.

How Canva compares on price
Adobe Express Premium costs $9.99 a month on monthly billing with 250 generative credits a month, according to Adobe Express pricing. Our arithmetic: that is $119.88 a year, below Canva Pro's yearly price even though Adobe's figure is the no-commitment monthly rate. Canva's case is the larger template and stock library, Brand Kits, and the Business tier's team controls at one per-person price.

If slides are the main job, the best AI presentation makers and the Gamma review and Gamma alternatives price the tools built for decks, and the best AI image generators and best free AI image generators cover image work outside Canva. Teams consolidating their stack can set Canva next to Miro pricing and Adobe Acrobat pricing.
Pick Pro if you work alone and want the premium library and AI tools. Pick Business if two or more people touch the same brand. Stay on Free if you design occasionally and can live without premium templates and background removal.
