Meta launches Muse, its personal AI agent, free to $100 a month by usage

Meta released Muse, a personal AI agent, to US users on September 8, 2026. It runs on Meta's Muse Spark models and was built internally under the code name Hatch, per CNBC and Meta's own announcement.

Muse is supposed to do the task, not narrate it. Meta says it can book appointments, fill out electronic forms, and monitor home security camera feeds.

The pricing is a usage meter, not a feature ladder. Muse is free for most everyday use, then $20 a month or $100 a month. An agent that opens a browser, works through a form, and finishes a checkout does more work than a single question, so the people who lean on it hardest pay more.

Meta's safety pitch is isolation. Muse runs in an isolated, secure environment, has no visibility into your passwords or payment methods, and checks with you before sensitive actions such as sending an email or making a purchase.

At launch Muse is limited to US consumers aged 18 and over, on iOS, Android and a standalone site, with more countries promised over time. Muse Code is a different product, a developer command-line tool aimed at engineers, not the consumer agent covered here.
